The Etheric Body
Rising Qi
The inscription from the twelve pieces of jade may contain the key to this whole male pattern baldness (MPB) phenomenon. Based on the information, there is this thing in our body, "it", which moves up and down. And wherever it settles, it will press. Specifically, when it moves up to the head, then it will press against the crown. I find that very interesting based on the shapes of the skulls of these men:
It looks to me as though something is pressing up against the crown of skulls of these men with advanced MPB. I think it's this "it" thing that the jade stones are talking about. But what is "it"?
In Chinese Traditional Medicine (TCM), "it" is referred to as qi. It is the life-force, which is an energetic intelligence that flows through our body and brings coherence and life to it. Everything that is alive has qi, from a plant to a human. It's strongest in plants because it's their only governing intelligence. They have no brain, organs, or digestive tract. Nevertheless, something in them has to figure out how to do stuff, like when to fruit, when to flower, when to shed their leaves, and how to bend, stretch, and contort their trunk growth to get maximum sunlight.
In the twelve pieces of jade quote, it mentions how qi solidifies and then sprouts. That sounds like a plant. That plant energy is inside of us. We have a plant body. It's our Etheric Body. It's the body through which our life-force flows. In fact, as alluded to on the other pages, according to esoteric history, which is captured in the depictions of the Creation and the Gods in many of the strange, but comparatively similar, relics of ancient civilizations, and whose interpretation is reserved for the elites who either guide the evolution of our consciousness or actively work to subvert it, humans originally inhabited a plant body to house our consciousness. Then, as we evolved as plants into animals, pieces of our etheric form broke off and manifested in nature as other plants. So, our Plant body, the Etheric Body, is a foundational body. It predates anything remotely similar to our current animal bodies, and this is why plants have a strong medicinal effect on us. It is also why doing work in, and cultivating control over, this body can have a powerful impact on both the health of our physical form and our ability to transcend beyond our physical limitations.
The primary source that nourishes our Etheric, or Plant, Body, is the Air. One major similarity between a human and a plant is that we both breath. We breath in more than just an oxygen rich gas, though. Air, rather, has an electrical charge and an intangible energetic component to it too, i.e. it has the life-force. Qi and "breath" share the same character in the Chinese language. Similarly, in Genesis, it is said that God breathed the breath of life into Adam to give his body life. Both philosophies are based on the understanding how life-force is in the ether, which is all around us, and which we mainly absorb through our breath. Our word "air" comes from the Greek word Aether, which is not the same as gas. Otherwise, we would have just called it gas. And the reason why we can only go mere minutes without air before we die is because we constantly need to be replenished with fresh life-force, and expel old noxious life-force. But, that's not about oxygen. Oxygen is not what makes breathwork so powerful. Rather, the power of breath is in cultivating and and manipulating the life-force, and that power is near limitless based on accounts of ancient ayurvedics, shamans, and mystery school initiates whose legendary abilities we often dismiss nowadays as historical exaggeration or fantasy.
The very least of what we can do with our breath is to manipulate the life-force in a way that moves it away from our crowns so that they don't bulge out. If you didn't read the home page, my hair loss theories are based on the underlying cause of skull expansion being concentrated life-force energy in the skull, as corroborated on the twelve pieces of jade excerpt. The reason why this affects men, and not women, is because males have a greater propensity for rising qi in the body due to the natural up direction of the male polar force in nature.
The directional propensity and the expansionary nature of the effect of the male polar force on the life-force is evident in the sexual dimorphism of male and female body: males being taller (closer to Heaven), broader in shoulders, and having much larger heads; and females being shorter (closer to Earth), with small heads, narrow shoulders, and carrying much more of their weight and girth in the hip region. Male Pattern Baldness then occurs in certain cases of over-exuberant, or imbalanced, upward moving male life-force energy, combined with skull shape features that are susceptible to expansion, in which the life-force gets thrust up into the skull and puts outward pressure on the crown, as shown earlier, as well as the foreheads and frontal hairline area too, as shown below:
As the primary and most palpable force inside of the body, that moves up and down and presses where it settles, rising life-force is the most likely culprit for what is applying an outward force on our skulls. Therefore, in this section, I will describe several TCM-based meditations that are aimed at getting a feel for the life-force, and directing it out of the head.
In addition to lowering the life-force concentration out of the skull, TCM meditations, along with herbal remedies, can stimulate a stronger life-force flow by cultivating the life-force within us, mostly from nature. This can directly benefit hair, if another one of my hypotheses, what I call The Etheric Confusion Hypothesis, which I will describe in detail on this page, is correct, which proposes that hair follicle miniaturization is the direct result of the Etheric Body intentionally halting the life-force flow to the hair follicle due to a change in skull contours. If what I suspect is so, that miniaturized hair follicles are indeed suffering from a lack of life-force, rather than blood, then there could be a vast untapped reservoir of energy work that we can do in the Etheric Body to re-stimulate the life-force flow to the hair. The idea being to encourage a robust etheric flow, and then direct the qi to the hair follicles in need.
The most important physical body part, as relates to our Etheric Body and life-force flow, is the liver. The liver is the only organ with the word "live" in it. Why did we name it a "liver"? Well, in TCM, the liver is believed to circulate the qi. Therefore, I suspect that the pre-modern Western physicians also believed such, and named the liver thusly. Of course, in the modern medical curriculum, that piece of ancient wisdom is completely oblivious, even though it's still right there in the word. The liver is our vitality organ. When our liver is healthy, then we have a strong life-force flow. Such will be evident in our physical appearance, which includes our hair. If we want to encourage a strong etheric flow, the foundation of such is healthy liver function.
Based on the connections between the life-force, liver, breathing, and plants, I'm going to focus on three classes of interventions on this page: liver detoxification and function, breath-work, and plant medicines. Liver detoxification will improve the strength of the life-force flow, breath-work, via meditations described here, can further stimulate the flow through the Etheric Body in a more targeted way, which can serve to direct the life-force to areas of need and away from areas where it tends to concentrate and cause problems, and both breath-work and herbal medicines can correct disturbances in our Etheric Body, such as stagnation, which are perpetuating in a negative feedback loop with the emotional constitution in our Soul Body.
Detoxifying the Liver
Much of my scientific liver knowledge comes from Andreas Moritz, who was a German liver guru guy. He's not a doctor - so, I trust him. He studied in India with the traditional Ayurvedic practitioners for over a decade, among other non-medical credentials. He theorized that most health problems relate back to the build up of gallstones in the liver that obstruct the bile ducts and severely impair the liver's functionality. My other source is Dr. Natasha Campbell-McBride, who believes all disease can be traced back to the gut, and has written books about specific dietary and lifestyle protocols to improve gut function, which she calls GAPS (Gut and Physiology Syndrome). According to Dr. Natasha, gallstones are an indication of toxic overload and inadequate fat intake, and are an overall impediment to the body's detoxification system.
In this section, I'm going to focus on how to flush the gallstones out and what lifestyle factors can be adopted to prevent the formation of gallstones in the liver. I'm also going to summarize the role of the liver and the reason for the excess production of gallstones. If you want a more detailed explanation, then get Andreas Moritz's book, The Amazing Liver and Gallbladder Flush, or Dr. Natasha's book, Gut and Physiology Syndrome (both affiliate links). However, the details that I provide should be enough to get a firm understanding of, and practical guide for, how to detoxify the liver.
THE LIVER'S JOB
The liver is responsible for the constant supply of nutrients, enzymes, and other beneficial physical substances to our body. When operating well, it will filter 3 pints of blood per minute, which sounds important. In fact, in older, and more accurate, medical philosophies the liver was theorized to be the origin of venous blood. In addition to it's cleansing role in the circulation of blood, the liver, if healthy, produces 1.5 quarts of bile per day. Bile is important for digestion because it breaks down fats, calcium, and proteins from our food in order to actually use the nutrients that we consume. But, it also maintains the proper PH and microbe constitution in our gut, and removes toxins from the liver. If we do not produce enough bile for digestion, the hydrochloric acid from the stomach will not be properly balanced with the alkaline bile, which causes acid burn damage to the intestinal walls. That is going to create a leaky gut problem, where the intestinal walls are permeable to things we don't want passing through it.
Insufficient bile production creates even more problems. If there is not enough bile to break down fat and calcium from our food, then it can't break down proteins and carbohydrates either, leaving us malnourished. Fat is essential for digesting everything, and adequate bile is necessary to make use of dietary fat. Another consequence of insufficient bile is, that undigested food will have to be broken down by the intestinal bacteria instead, which is not as efficient, comes with digestive discomfort, and will change the microbe constitution in the gut to accomplish such. That change has consequences. Finally, if fat doesn't get broken down well, which insufficient bile will cause, then fecal matter does not move well through the digestive tract, leaving it to fester inside of us. Such is why constipation is a major cause of toxicity.
Basically, bile production and release into the digestive tract is extremely important. And the biggest obstruction to bile release from the liver is gallstone formation.
GALLSTONE FORMATION
Gallstones are microbes, mineral crystals with toxic metals, and other bio-junk in a cholesterol packaging. These are generated by the liver and passed through the bile ducts, gallbladder, duodenum, and into the digestive tract, where it can be excreted. When we do not consume enough fat and/or the liver is generating an excessive load of these gallstones, then they are difficult to excrete. Instead, they accumulate.
Gallstones accumulate in the gallbladder, which modern medicine often treats unnecessarily, and even dangerously, with gallbladder removal surgery. But, gallstones also accumulate in the bile ducts and the liver. Over time, and due to excess production, gallstones clog up the bile ducts, which impedes the flow of bile into the digestive tract, creating all those problems associated with insufficient bile production. The stones also accumulate in the liver, a cause of fatty liver disease, which impairs the liver's capacity to filter the blood and deliver all those nutrients and enzymes to our cells. This can manifest as all sorts of disease, from eczema, to obesity, to cancer, and results in overall weak vitality. If we can't get nutrients to our cells and filter our blood, it's going to show in our appearance.
The gallstones are generated in the liver as a means to package and excrete toxic material that it cannot destroy or repurpose. The other way that they are generated is due to imbalance in the bile constituents (water, mucus, bile salts, fats and cholesterol, enzymes, and bacteria) manifesting as an insoluble congelation, or gallstones. Toxic overload and lifestyle factors influence the production of these stones, as well as the body's ability to naturally excrete them. The following is a list of the primary causes of excess gallstones production, according to Andreas Moritz.
• Dietary
- eating too much food at once
- eating between meals (only 2-3 meals x day)
- eating a big evening meal
- eating too much protein
- artificial sweeteners
- GMO foods
- refined salt
- dehydration
- heavy metal contamination
- rapid weight loss
- eating low fat
- drinking low or reduced fat milk
- food that bypasses chewing (smoothies)
• Pharmakeia
- taking any pharmaceutical drug (tylenol, sleep meds, ADHD, etc.)
- cancer treatments
- hormone replacement therapy
- contraceptive pills
- fluoride
• Vaccines
- all vaccines for all ages
• Lifestyle
- going to bed after 10 pm
- waking up after 6am, or sunrise
- not eating biggest meal of the day at 12pm
- eating after 7pm
- eating optional breakfast after 8am
- irregular mealtimes
• Miscellaneous
- weak stomach acid (HCL)
- watching TV/screens
- emotional stress
All of these things stress the liver, and cause it to produce gallstones in excess. Things like vaccines and pharmaceuticals should be intuitive, if you are already aware that they are straight poison and have no medicinal properties at all. But, some of the time-based lifestyle causes might seem strange, unless you are well versed in Ayurvedic medicine, which inspired much of Andreas Moritz's work.
In Ayurveda, the day is divided into, what is called call, three doshas. The doshas are theorized to be the three fundamental energies that govern the Earth. They cycle twice throughout the day: pitta, vatta, kapha, and repeat once more, as each period lasts 4 hours. The pitta period is the period of peak energy. It occurs from 10am to 2pm, and again from 10pm to 2am. The 10am to 2pm period is like the yang peak energy time for the liver. In general, it's the time of day of peak activity and the liver is focusing on producing the most amount of enzymes for digestion. Therefore, this is when it is best to eat the biggest meal of the day. By contrast, from 10pm to 2am, the liver is in peak yin energy mode. At this time it needs to focus on processing toxins and cleaning us out, for which it needs us to be in alternate energy sleep mode to do. Rather, if we have to process a large meal that we just ate at 9:30 pm, then the liver is not going be able to focus on it's main task at this time. Furthermore, it will not produce enough digestive enzymes at this time in order to process this food. Therefore, we're not going to get what we need from the food. It's a waste of digestive energy and is going to cause toxicity and gallstone production.
Therefore, based on Ayurvedic principles, it is best to eat a light meal between 6 and 7pm for dinner. In addition, eating an optional breakfast after 8 am, or snacking before lunch, is going to compromise the digestive strength for the lunch meal, when the liver is in peak enzyme production mode and can handle a hearty meal. Irregular meal times can also cause problems in a similar manner. For example, eating lunch at 2pm is the wrong time. The time of day is not the correct energy, and the liver is more prepared for a big meal at noon. Even just snacking after lunch is going to throw the digestive system out of wack, because it's going to take the liver's focus and energy away from processing the main meal of the day for nutrient assimilation.
Going to bed too late, after 10pm, is a problem too, as mentioned earlier, because the liver needs us to be unconscious, in an energy saving mode, in order to focus on it's mains tasks during that time. Being awake will stress the liver, causing it to produce stones in excess because it is not fully focused on that task at this time. Also, waking up to late is a problem because the period from 2am to 6am, called the vatta, is the time when the body prepares waste for expulsion. We have to get vertical shortly after 6am for the body to get rid of that waste. Otherwise, it will kind of retract, and not all get eliminated in the morning. The result is festering waste matter in the digestive tract, which will create gallstones as toxins get reabsorbed into the body unnecessarily.
Andreas Moritz also says that eating animal flesh and too much animal protein causes gallstones. I have ignored that advice. I agree that eating too much lean muscle meat is bad. But a high fat diet with a good mix of broth, muscle meat, and organs is consistent with the diets of Weston A. Price people studied. So, I doubt that an animal based diet, unless it's all lean muscle meat, is going to stress the liver. That is not to say that I could be wrong. For example, as part of the spirituality of the Great Indian Empire from millennia ago, it was believed that we eat the agony of the animal in death when we consume its flesh. It may be that the energy of "death agony" could impact LIVE-R health. And maybe there is a time during the year when we should subsist only on dairy, eggs, and plant food to fast from this "death agony" energy. However, because those foods cause problems for me, and meat does not, for now, I'm eating meat.
To give some context to his claim, Andreas Moritz was a vegetarian. He was a smart vegetarian, though. He advocated for eating ghee, drinking raw milk, and consuming high fat, cholesterol, and saturated fat rich foods, like coconut oil. He also acknowledged the problems with eating plant food, and so he recommended fermenting seeds and grains, and eating seasonal produce to reduce the potency of the natural gut disrupting compounds in plants. Dr. Natasha, on the other hand, recommends animal foods like broth, tallow, organs, and dairy. She believes that these foods support liver function the best. I like to use both resources as a means of getting a balanced approach to detoxifying the liver.
HOW TO EXCRETE GALLSTONES
Andreas Moritz recommends doing a "liver flush" to excrete gallstones. A liver flush involves triggering a massive bile release before bed by drinking a concoction of olive oil and citrus juice, which will push gallstones through the bile ducts into the digestive tract for excretion in the morning. I have done eight of these "liver flushes" over the course of 11 months. They are effective at excreting massive amounts of gallstones. While I have not noticed any direct hair growth benefits, I did notice a significant improvement in seasonal allergies from last year to this year, as well as during the time I was doing flushes, which happened to be in the Spring. My allergies (persistent runny nose and watery eyes) were basically gone after my third liver flush. So, I can attest to the fact that liver flushes do something.
The procedure for doing a liver flush is pretty simple, but there are steps that you need to follow in order to make them effective and safe. It's a fairly intense bathroom experience too. You have gallstone diarrhea for an entire morning, enemas are necessary before and after the flush, you have do drink a disgusting magnesium salt solution four times during the flush, and my wife and I have both woken up at midnight with vomiting and diarrhea. I even pooped my pants in bed once. It's way better than surgery though, and I still do them. The benefits far outweigh the discomfort.
One more note: I thought that I could never bring myself to do an enema. But, they're easy. I do them all the time now. They're not uncomfortable or homo-erotic. And in my experience it is an effective relief from constipation, health maintenance strategy, and means of recovering from a cold. Anyway, here's how to do the flush:
• Day 1-5
- drink 1 tbs of malic acid in a quart of water throughout the day
• Day 6 Morning
- do a water enema in the morning
- drink another quart of malic acid water during the morning
- do not eat any fat or animal protein all day
- do not eat after 2pm
• Day 6 Evening
- dissolve 4 tbs of epsom salt in 3 cups of water
- at 6pm drink 3/4 cups of the epsom salt solution
- at 8pm drink another 3/4 cup portion
- mix 4 oz of olive oil with 6 oz of grapefruit juice
- drink the olive oil and grapefruit juice at 10pm
- Lay in bed on your back with your head elevated for 15 mins
- go to sleep
• Day 7
- at 6am drink the third portion of epsom solution
- at 8 am drink the fourth portion of epsom salt solution
- at 11 am, or later, eat a light breakfast
• Day 8-10
- eat less, but progressively more, food at meals
- do a water enema at some point
Andreas Moritz learned the basics of the flush from his Ayurvedic studies. For example, Indian mothers would give their children a dose of lemon juice and olive oil when they were sick, as a means of facilitating the body's detoxification efforts. The reason for all of these elements in the flush are as follows: malic acid softens the minerals in the gallstones, the vegan no-fat meal and not eating in the evening stores up your bile for the flush, the enema cleans out the bowels so the stones don't have any fecal obstruction during the flush, the epsom salts the day before relax the bile ducts in preparation for the gallstones to get pushed out, the olive oil and citrus trigger the liver to release its stored bile to push out the stones, bile release is triggered during the beginning of the pitta (10pm) energy period for maximum efficacy, the magnesium salts the next day are the laxative that flush the stones out of the digestive tract, and the last enema is to clear out any stones that did not get out during the flush. At least, this is my understanding.
To Andrea Moritz, eating light is raw vegan. I don't do that. I will eat an almost vegan meal the day of the flush in order to store the bile (I eat honey). But, to eat light after the flush, I go with Dr. Natasha's recommendation of Stage 1 GAPS. Stage 1 GAPS food consists of broth, boiled vegetables, boiled meat, and some fermented drinks. I am careful not to overeat too. The flush is a lot of stress on the liver. It will not be able to process a normal sized meal for a day or two, in my experience. Usually, I lose my appetite sooner into the meal anyway. The body will tell us how much to eat.
Andreas Moritz recommends that you do 1 flush per month for a few months consecutively. The reason being, if you have a lot of stones, then some of the stones will be flushed from the liver but not get through the bile ducts because there are so many already in there. Rather, it takes a few flushes to adequately clear out the ducts. His other recommendation, and this is why I like him even though he recommends veganism, is to not attempt a liver flush on the full moon. Rather, do it as close to the new moon as possible. The full moon has a strong influence on the fluids in our body in a way that will interfere with the efficacy of the flush. It's important to know where we are at in the lunar cycle. It's fundamental to being a human. To not be aware, is disorienting to our bio-rhythms.
Once you have flushed enough times to clear out the excess stones, which might be something like 12 of these, then you can do two per year for routine maintenance. I did most of mine in the Spring and Summer. The Spring is the season that corresponds to the liver in TCM. That may be the best time to do some spring-cleaning aimed at the liver. My liver flush experience was most mild in the Spring and Summer. When I did one a few weeks into the Fall, rather, I woke up puking. The first one that I did, which was in November, also resulted in intense nausea during the night of the flush. Nevertheless, I still want to help my liver in its detoxification efforts. Therefore, instead of doing more liver flushes during the Winter, I focus on coffee enemas.
COFFEE ENEMAS
Dr. Natasha does not recommend liver flushes for those of us are still weakened from gut damage. Instead, she recommends doing coffee enemas. Coffee enemas are the other way to trigger the liver to release gallstones. That means, other than surgical removal, you are not going to be able to avoid doing an enema if you want to flush out your gallstones. It's a tube up your butt - yes. However, in my experience, it is more psychologically uncomfortable than physically uncomfortable. And once you do it, you'll be over the psychological barrier forever.
Coffee enemas require a specific organic coffee to execute. The caution with enemas is that you don't want to put anything toxic (e.g. pesticides) or problematic (e.g. fungus) into your colon. I specifically bought this coffee brand café mam (affiliate link) with some amazon gift cards that I had. It's recommended by the Gerson Institute, which was founded by Dr. Max Gerson, who consistently cured people's cancer and other degenerative diseases by having them do multiple daily coffee enemas over an extended period of time, starting in the 1930's.
It is worthy to note that Andreas Moritz does not believe that coffee enemas can trigger a gallstone release from the liver. Rather, he says that they reduce "serum level toxicity" only. However, Dr. Natasha believes that they do. So, I don't know. I did coffee enemas for 5 days in a row during a water fast, and I couldn't tell if stones were coming out during the flush. It seemed like some small ones may have been, but certainly not nearly to the degree of a liver flush. When you do a liver flush, it's obvious that they are coming out. But, based on the cancer curing success of Dr. Gerson, it does something good for the liver. Furthermore, I have heard multiple accounts of people curing food sensitivities by merely doing consistent or multiple consecutive coffee enemas. I have also experienced positive effects.
One advantage of the coffee enema is, unlike the liver flush, it just takes 1-2 hours of preparation and execution, a fair amount of which is hands off. To do one, you will need an enema kit. I bought this one. It's supposed to be non-toxic silicone and specific for coffee enemas. Traditionally, and probably more healthfully, people used a metal bucket to hold the enema solution that eventually drains into your colon, like this one (both affiliate links). Either way, the tubing is going to be made of silicone. So, I am content with the silicone enema bag.
Dr. Natasha recommends clearing out the bowels with 2-4 basic enemas before doing the coffee enema. It helps you keep the coffee enema solution for longer without feeling a strong urge to release the bowels. I can attest to that benefit. Here is the procedure for the basic and coffee enemas recommended by Dr. Natasha:
• Ingredients
- 1 quart of filtered water (no tap water)
- 1 tsp of unrefined mineral salt
- 1 tsp of baking soda
- organic coconut oil for lubrication
• Making the Solution
- bring the water to a boil
- pour boiled water into container with baking soda
- add 1 tsp of salt
- add water or wait until it is body temperature
• Procedure
- hang enema bag up near bath tub
- make sure the release valve is closed for tubing
- pour the enema solution into the bag
- release the valve to get the air out, then shut
- lubricate the end of the tube with coconut oil
- insert the tube into the rectum
- Lay down in the tub on your right side
- release the valve
- ignore mild urges to release the bowels
- release the bowels when urges get intense, or after several minutes
If you are going to do 2-4 cleanses in preparation for the coffee enema, then you can make more than a quart of solution or divide the 1 quart into two quick enemas. You don't have to do long basic enemas when you are following it with a coffee enema. Rather, do however much cleaning you think you need to clear things out for the coffee. You have to hold the coffee in for 15 minutes, and that is much easier to do when the bowels are cleared out.
• Ingredients
- 1 quart of filtered water (no tap water)
- 3 heaping tbs of organic ground coffee
- organic coconut oil for lubrication
• Making the Solution
- add the coffee grinds to the water
- bring to a boil
- let it boil for 2 minutes
- cover, reduce heat, and let it simmer for 10 minutes
- let it cool to room temperature, then strain it
• Procedure
- hang enema bag up near bath tub
- make sure the release valve is closed for tubing
- pour the enema solution into the bag
- release the valve to get the air out, then shut
- lubricate the end of the tube with coconut oil
- insert the tube into the rectum
- Lay down in the tub on your LEFT side
- release the valve
- ignore mild urges to release the bowels
- release the bowels AFTER 15 minutes
Coffee enemas can be done anytime and with whatever frequency you think is necessary. The Gerson cancer treatment was based on twice daily enemas. That's on the high end in terms of frequency. I have only done 1 in a day, and I usually do it in the morning because the caffeine will keep me up at night. I have done them as frequently as five consecutive days, but only while fasting. Otherwise, I do them 2-3 times per month. I do them more frequently while fasting in order to help my liver detoxify and clear the bowels, because there is no food matter pushing toxins through the digestive tract, which get released even though you are not eating anything.
The biggest success that I have had with coffee enemas is in recovering from the common cold. In my experience, even just one coffee enema has a significant impact on speed of recovery. For example, my wife, daughter, and I all got sick after a miserable travel experience to Puerto Rico and back. We got back on a Tuesday and we were all already sick. I did a coffee enema over the weekend, along with some acupuncture blood cupping on the day after we got back, and I felt fully recovered by Monday. Simone and Cassandra, rather, were sick for two more weeks.
It makes sense why a liver flush or coffee enema, and the Gerson Protocol, works if you understand the cause of illness to be toxic overload, rather than microbiotic exposure. It helps the body in its efforts to excrete toxic material. Coughing, sneezing, runny nose, diarrhea, vomiting, sweating are all ways for the body to get toxic material out of us. These are auxiliary pathways that are only used when the body is overloaded due to toxic exposure and being physically and emotionally exhausted to the point where the body can no longer manage its normal load of toxic material to excrete by normal means, both of which can easily occur with air travel. Therefore, anything that helps the body excrete more toxic matter is going to speed up the body's recovery from illness. Here are some other things that I have found helpful for helping the liver get rid of toxic stuff, but in more of a daily maintenance approach.
ZEOLITE CLAY
Zeolite is micronized volcanic earth. It helps remove heavy metals, microplastics, and other toxins due to its magnetic charge. Toxins and harmful acids have a positive charge, and so anything with a negative charge is going to bind to them and help draw them out. Zeolite clay has a negative charge. The Earth, in general, has a negative charge, and it will naturally pull out toxins when we eat it, or even just stand on it, without shoes. Animals, on instinct, will eat clay, in addition to standing on the Earth all day with no shoes.
Zeolite is an exotic clay that has a gentle effect on the body, in my experience. I consume it away from meals to avoid it binding to beneficial minerals that I want to stay in the body, and I have never had a strong detoxification reaction to taking it. I took it every day when I was recovering from a back injury because I suspected that the source of that injury was weakened kidneys due to toxicity from over a decade of taking finasteride, among other chemicals, for MPB. In my experience, toxic purging is more effective than any physical rehabilitation for recovering from multi-year chronic back pain/injuries.
I still take zeolite clay a few times per week. I buy this product called Zeoboost. This is the website where you can order their product. I don't have an affiliate link for them. Someone sells it on Amazon, but its more expensive than buying direct. I bought 15 of them in bulk a few years ago. I've given some away and I still have plenty left. I take about half a tablespoon at a time, in the morning, no breakfast.
ACTIVATED BAMBOO CHARCOAL
Activated bamboo charcoal (ABC) is also very good at pulling out heavy metals from the body, due to its negative charge. Some holistic practitioners tout ABC as the most effective means to detoxify from the COVID vaccine, COVID swab tests, and vaccine shedding from people who were vaccinated. I don't know if vaccine shedding exists, or nano-particles, but if they do, ABC could probably get it out.
In my experience, ABC has a more intense detoxification effect on the body, though. I developed severe insomnia while taking it every day over the course of 4 months. It also seemed to cause some excess shedding and graying of my hair. For that reason, I only take it occasionally now. I don't feel the side effects when I take it once per week.
A holistic chiropractor, who I went to for my back injury, turned me on to this Japanese brand of activated bamboo charcoal (affiliate link). It's made from a specific type of Japanese bamboo, and it comes in capsule form. I don't like to eat cellulose capsules for gut health reasons. Therefore, for any pill supplement, I rip the pill apart over my mouth to pour the contents in, which in this case is pure bamboo charcoal. That can be messy, but I just deal with it.
MSM
MSM got brought up on the last page. But, since it strongly applies to detoxification, I'm going to go over it again. As I said, MSM is short for methylsulfonylmethane, and it's basically pure sulfur. Sulfur is important for cell membrane permeability. We can do all this liver boosting work to get a strong supply of nutrients to the body, but the nutrients will not actually get to the cells that need it if we are deficient in sulfur. Furthermore, regardless of whether or not cells entirely make up our tissues, there are cells and they do accumulate toxic waste. Toxic stuff is not meant to accumulate indefinitely in our bodily tissue. We have to take out the trash. Otherwise, we get cancer and other problems. Sulfur helps the body take out the trash.
Sulfur is high in natural Earth waters, like mineral springs, and used to be abundant in plant foods. Chemical fertilizers strip the soil of its sulfur, and fluoridated and chlorinated water strips the water of all it's sulfur. So, unless we have easy access to a sulfur mineral spring, we may want to supplement MSM to make sure that we are getting adequate cell nourishment and are able to get toxic material out of the cells so that they can get flushed out of the body entirely. The added bonus is that MSM contributes to healthy hair growth due to its role in protein utilization (also applies to skin and bones).
I used to get MSM from a hippie organic food store in town. Maybe the stuff you can find in the store is adequate. I really don't know. Just to be more confident in the MSM quality, I have recently bought this brand of MSM (affiliate link). They advertise as being "organic lignin crystals", which is the best form of MSM, according to Andreas Moritz.
IONIZED WATER
Why is it that we are told to eat hot soup or drink hot tea when we are sick? It's because hot water is negatively charged. Boiling water ionizes it and gives it that negative charge that is needed for the body to neutralize and excrete positively charged toxins.
Simply boil (filtered) water for 15-20 minutes and you have ionized water. The negative charge only lasts for as long as the water is hot. Therefore, pour it in a thermos to keep the water charged as you sip it over the course of an hour or more.
MINERAL BATHS
Hot springs will pull toxic materials out of the skin, while the body absorbs the minerals and Earth energy from the water. Supposedly, almost all towns had a hot spring where people would bath for therapeutic purposes until the 1930's, when the Rockefellers began buying the land that they were on, plugging them up, and pushing their industrial medicine as an attractive modern alternative to thermal Earth waters, which was re-branded as an out-dated and superstitious health practice, along with how many other things and modalities that actually heal us were.
Going to hot mineral springs frequently is ideal. If you don't live near one that is unchlorinated or uncommercialized (I have to drive an hour away), then we can make our own mineral baths with mineral salts, and some other ingredients. Since I don't have access to a natural water source and want to avoid bathing in toxic tap water, I do foot baths with filtered water. I combine ancient sea bed magnesium chloride flakes that I buy at the grocery store, like these (affiliate link), along with some baking soda and seaweed in small tub full of hot water (the hotter the better).
The feet can absorb and excrete a lot of stuff. When I was in college, I played baseball. Many of the guys would do chewing tobacco. There would be gross brown spit puddles all over the dugout floor. In that culture, I also learned that softball girls would do it too. But, to avoid the disgusting brown spitting, they would put the snuff in between their toes because it would absorb just as well there, without having to spit every 30 seconds. Anyway, it was a disgusting, but impactful, lesson in the absorptive power of the feet.
CASTOR OIL
Topically applied castor oil on the abdomen in the location of the liver will aid in its detoxification efforts. Castor oil supplies warmth to our body because of its nature as an oil that stores a particularly high amount of heat (calories). Therefore, whenever it is applied topically, there is a rush of blood flow to that area. The result is a stimulating effect on the organ that it is applied topically over.
Organs can lose warmth due to being chronically stuck in the energy expending sympathetic nerve-sense male pole. For the liver, the additional warmth, supplied by the castor oil, will stimulate bile production, which will help it to excrete toxins. In addition, the increased blood flow will stimulate the lymphatic system, which is the liquid garbage collection agency in our body. The overall result is more toxic things being excreted, and a better functioning liver.
All organs can benefit from such, not just the liver. Therefore, I will smear castor oil over my entire abdomen and lower back (kidneys) to get them all. I have found this to be effective at recovering from illness, as well, and I usually sleep for more hours straight the nights after I apply castor oil. Traditionally, the process is to heat the castor oil, smear it on, and then cover with a plastic wrapped cloth and a hot water bag on top. The reason being is that the castor oil needs to stay warm to penetrate deep into the skin and actually get to the organ. The alternative, which is what I do, is to mix the castor oil with DMSO. DMSO is a powerful plant-derived solvent. It will drive everything on the skin deep into your body, which makes it a great pairing with castor oil but a terrible pairing with anything toxic, like microplastics and man-made chemicals. Therefore, it is necessary to take care that your hands and body are clean in a "there are only natural things on them" sort of way.
Castor oil must be cold-pressed, organic, and hexane-free like this Queen of the Thrones brand (affiliate link), which comes in a glass container and is popular in the all-natural communities. It's fairly cheap stuff and packs a punch. I have found that grocery store castor oils, like whole foods, are not very high quality. If you have a very organic hippie store in town, then you might be able to find some there. Otherwise, you'll have to order online. Same with DMSO. For DMSO, you definitely want to buy it in a glass container to avoid driving micro-plastics through your skin. I get the 99.9% pharmaceutical grade stuff like this DMSO (affiliate link).
I do these castor oil and DMSO smears 1-3 times per week. I do them more in the warm weather months because I like to go shirtless to avoid staining my clothes. Beware that castor oil will stain everything. If you do wear clothes, be sure that it is an old ragged shirt, and be extremely careful with furniture.
Oral castor oil has a laxative effect and some liver detoxification abilities. It may even help with gallstones. Specifically for hair, many people have reported "hypertrichosis", which is excessive hair growth. That sounds like a good problem. For that reason, I am currently experimenting with oral castor oil once per week. So far, I can at least attest to its laxative effect.
OX BILE
Consuming ox bile supplements weak bile production from the liver. While flushing the liver back to health, ox bile will help the body destroy toxins and absorb fat soluble "vitamins" like a normal liver would do otherwise.
In my experience, it is a potent detoxification aid. It is not uncommon to have 3-4 straight weeks of diarrhea, as I did, when starting an ox bile supplement. Diarrhea and vomiting are ways that the body to purges toxins. I never vomited from ox bile. Although, it tastes like vomit.
I bought this NXGEN ox bile with freeze dried gallbladder supplement. This is not an affiliate link. Ox bile supplements that don't have rice flour, magnesium stearate, silica, or something besides ox bile and animal matter in them, are difficult to find. The only one that I could find on Amazon is this Ancestral Supplements (affiliate link) mix of ox bile, liver, and gallbladder. However, it has half of the ox bile as the NXGEN brand. It may be a little less expensive. But, since I never got a good vibe from Ancestral Supplements, and it has less ox bile, then I would go with the NXGEN. I used to get straight ox bile from a website called Jool Wellness for pretty cheap. Unfortunately, it seems like they discontinued selling it. That was pure ox bile and cheaper (bummer).
I should note that ox bile supplementation should be temporary. Once you strengthen the liver and flush out the stones, then the bile production will be adequate such that you don't need to supplement.
SUNBATHING
Sunbathing is free. It's also a powerful detoxifier. As I mentioned on the previous page, sunlight, supposedly, stimulates vitamin D production in the skin and then sulfates it along with cholesterol, which makes them water soluble. In this water soluble state, then they can go into the blood, circulate, and aid in detoxification efforts. I don't know if all that is true, but sunlight seems to be nature's disinfectant. Nasty stuff grows in the dark. But once it's exposed to sunlight, bye bye (bad energy included). Sunlight sanitizes us naturally, inside and out.
SAUNA
Sweat is another way that the body can excrete toxins. Some sciency people say it's not true, so I think it is. If people have been doing it for thousands of years, there must be something to it. Furthermore, the fact that body will break out in sweat during illness is an indication that it is a toxic purge.
Sweating while sitting down in a relaxed state is best because the body excretes toxins better in the para-sympathetic state. That's why saunas are necessary beyond just doing intense physical activity during the heat of the day. I don't have free access to a sauna, and so I don't get in one nearly enough. One day I intend to build one.
BAREFOOT WALKING ON THE EARTH
Another free one. The Earth is negatively charged and the feet are unusually permeable, probably designed specifically for this purpose, which makes barefoot walking on the Earth a detoxifying exercise. The negative charge of the Earth actually pulls toxins out of our feet. It also puts beneficial stuff back into us through our feet and rebalances our electromagnetic charge.
If you want to do something that is not free, then you can buy grounding sheets (affiliate link). These are sheets that have silver fibers that you plug into the grounding outlet in the wall. I have a few of these, but I use an copper extension rod that extends outside and grounds the sheet into the actual Earth. The idea is to stay connected to the natural Earth energy to help you rest and recover. I think it's a helpful "hack", but there is no replacement for being outside and physically touching the Earth.
Qigong and The Breath of Life
When the liver is flushed from gallstones, we've reduced our toxic exposure, and we're boosting its detoxification efforts with clays, sunshine, etc., then the life-force, or qi, will flow with much more vigor. The life-force is more than the nutrients and other vital biological substances that we get from the liver. Likewise, what we get from the air is more than just oxygen, and what we exhale is more than just carbon dioxide. The liver circulates the qi, but the way we get qi in our body, or at least the primary means, is through our breath.
The lungs are the second most important detoxification organ. All fat soluble toxins are sent to the lymph, and then to the lungs where it can be breathed out as a gas, or coughed up as mucus. That's why coughing is such an important part of the recovery process during a cold, and why it lingers for the longest amount of time. But we can get more than toxin substances out through our lungs. Through the power of breath we can energize our body with fresh qi and expel toxic energy.
Qigong is the most modern name for the TCM practice of cultivating and controlling the life-force in our body. It translates to "life energy work". In ancient times, though, it was called tu gu na xin, which means "expelling the old energy, drawing in the new". In with the good, out with the bad. That's simple. How do we do that? Through the lungs.
The lungs are the most important body part in life-force energy work. It is through our lungs and the power of breath that we can accomplish the goal described in all of the ancient iterations of the name for this TCM practice, such as xing qi "moving the qi", yang shen "nourishing the forces of life", nei gong "inner achievement", and dao-yin "leading and guiding the energy".
For our purposes, through simple breathing exercises, we can learn to move the qi down and out of our heads, in order to prevent further skull expansion. In addition, as part of the "out with the bad" component of breath-work, we can expel imbalanced male negative emotional energy. This will serve to prevent rising qi in the future, as we will become less reactive to irritants and less inclined to ruminate on our fears and worries. I'll go over additional emotional rebalancing techniques on the Soul Body page, because that's the body that deals with emotions. And on the Spirit Body page, I'll describe a few techniques for directing qi with our intent, to potentially send some of that cultivated qi to the hair. On this page, rather, I'm mainly going to focus techniques for cultivating qi and moving it out of the head.
THE DAN TIAN
There are three qi reservoirs, according to TCM theory. There is one between the eye brows at the third-eye chakra, which stores our shen. Shen is the most yang, or male, form of qi, and relates to our spirit. This is kind of the energy that radiates from us. Down a bit at the solar plexus, and solar plexus chakra, is another reservoir, where we store our regular usable form of qi. This is the polar neutral qi that flows through the meridians. This reservoir is referred to as the middle dan tian, and the one at the third-eye is the upper dan tian. The lower dan tian is the reservoir for our jing, which is the most yin, or female, form of qi. Anytime the dan tian is referred to without specification, it's the lower dan tian.
The lower dan tian is located about 3.5 inches below the naval. Since female energy sinks towards the Earth, it would make sense that our female energy reservoir is in the lowest reservoir. Note also that this area is often the widest part of the body on a female, which may have something to do with the settling and pressing nature of qi, according to that twelve pieces of jade inscription. Since the lower dan tian stores our female energy, then that's a good area for us to focus on, and stimulate, while doing qigong.
Doing focused diaphragmatic breathing, itself, will stimulate the dan tian because the movement of the lungs and diaphragm pushes the belly in and out, which is where the dan tian is located. To take a proper qigong breath, relax the abdomen and let the belly expand during the in-breath. The belly expands due to the air filling the lungs. During the out-breath, the abdominal muscles contract, the belly goes in, and the air gets pushed out from the lungs.
Breathing in this manner allows for a deeper breath, which has a relaxing effect on the body. This relaxing effect will lower our emotional energy, which prevents the qi from rising. In addition, focusing our awareness on the abdomen will send our qi there, which will also help drain it from the head, if it is concentrated there. In general, our thoughts cause qi to rise and concentrate in the front of our skulls. Bringing our awareness to any other part of the body will redirect the qi concentration, away from the expanding forehead, to that other body part.
QIGONG STANCE
Qigong breathing exercises are done sitting lotus style, sitting in a chair, or standing in variations of the basic qigong stance. In the qigong stance, the exercises are referred to as standing meditations. This is simply standing in a relaxed pose and focusing the awareness somewhere in the body. It helps get a feel for the qi flow, or "listen to it" as they say, which is the first step towards learning to control it.
To do a qigong stance: stand with feet shoulder width apart, arms relaxed and hanging straight down, hands resting where they hang naturally on the thigh, knees bent, weight balanced on the feet, shoulders relaxed, hips slightly tilted forward to achieve a long straight spine, tongue touching the roof of the mouth, and eyes gazing in the area just in front of you. Here's a video that I made about the qigong stance if you need a visual aid.
I prefer to do many of the meditations in the qigong stance, because the posture is therapeutic for correcting a male emotional imbalance. The elements of the stance serve to help us relax. Bending the knees and sinking your weight into the Earth helps to feel grounded and accepting of yourself. All muscles, except necessary supporting ones, must be completely relaxed. This gets rid of unnecessary physical AND emotional tension, as they are related. Finally, the spine is pulled straight to inspire confidence, and the joints are open to help us be receptive to the energy around us, which could include the challenges of the day. The tongue touching the roof of the mouth closes the loop between the two major meridians, the yang Governing Channel, along the back, and the yin Conception Channel along the front, is not a direct emotional benefit, but it does facilitate vigorous qi flow through the body, which is good.
Once in this stance, then we can direct our awareness to our breathing, the dan tian or both. Focusing our awareness, in this relaxed stance, on the dan tian will stimulate our female energy by drawing the qi down to that yin reservoir. Focusing on abdominal breathing will do this too, which you might want to do to get a feel for diaphragmatic breathing if you've never done it before. It's also an easy mental cue to get you out of your head when your mind starts to wander.
The only way that this exercise is ineffective is if we let the mind wander. Once it wanders, then we are thinking in our heads, and the qi is back up in there. There is such a thing as thinking meditation. In fact, meditation etymologically means "to think". Thinking meditation is when we reflect on our actions, our life direction, our emotions, etc.. This type of thinking is very beneficial too, and even necessary for our spiritual growth. However, there's a time to think, and there is a time to "fast" from thinking. We want to fast from thinking, intermittently, because we have likely been thinking all day for years and years, and that's too much. Standing meditation can be an opportunity to take a break from thinking.
Standing meditation can also improve our thinking when we go back to thinking, because we come out of the meditation more relaxed and with more clarity. In TCM, it is said that we all come from "the void", and so a goal of meditation is to try return to this void. Similarly, in the Bible, it is said that "in the beginning... the Earth was without form and void" (Genesis 1:1). In TCM, the approach to get back to the void is to strike the balance between the yin and the yang, because that is where there is perfect stillness. Likewise, according to the Bible, God speaks to us in the stillness. What I gather from reconciling these seemingly distinct philosophies, is that there is a great benefit to a state of stillness. When we are still, we can think better. God even speaks to us in this stillness, who is a being of infinite wisdom. There's no better source for our thoughts than infinite wisdom, in my opinion. First, however, we must enter the void by releasing the tension in our bodies and fasting from our thoughts. The qigong stance and awareness of our breath are a simple means to work to achieve this stillness.
THE BREATH OF NO BREATH
Most days I have a lot of difficulty calming my mind at first. To get into a relaxed state, I find it helpful to do a more mentally active meditation. Scripted meditations, which require me to focus my awareness on moving qithrough the body in specific manner, help to get me out of my head, i.e. drain it of thoughts and qi.
The "breath of no breath meditation" is a sitting meditation where you visualize the qi moving in the body in various ways. The qi is directed using our intent, and meditations like this help us to cultivate this ability. While each stage of the meditation has its own unique influence on qi flow, the overall goal is to get to a point of "embryonic respiration", where the breath is so light, but satisfying, that it feels like we're not even breathing at all. One helpful cue to achieve this state, in the final stage, is the idea that we breath in qi through our whole body, rather than just our lungs.
To perform this exercise, sit on a chair or on the ground in lotus style. I often do it standing too. If sitting, though, rest the hands on the lap, with the left hand on the right, and the left hand slightly grasping the right thumb. Begin with a few minutes of focused and relaxed breathing, then go through the following stages.
Stage 1: Deep Breathing
Inhale through the nose and visualize the whole body filling with
fresh qi. Exhale through the mouth, and visualize releasing all
stagnant or bad qi. Do this nine times.
* For the remaining stages, inhale and exhale through the nose.
Stage 2: External Breathing
Inhale and imagine the qi going to the middle dan tian,
which is located behind the solar plexus. As you exhale, visualize
sending the qi down to and filling the lower dan tian. Do this nine times.
Stage 3: Mingling Fire and Water
On the inhale, send the qi from the lower dan tian up
to the middle dan tian. On the exhale, send the qi back
down to the lower dan tian. Do this nine times.
Mixing the energy from the upper and lower dan tians mingles
the ying and yang energy, which creates more qi.
Supposedly it also washes the organs between the heart (upper) and
kidneys (lower), and prevents our shen and jing from dissipating.
Stage 4: Dan Tian Breathing
During the inhale, imaging the dan tian gently expanding. During
the exhale, let in return back to its normal size. Allow the breath to
to become slow, deep, long, and fine. Don't count breaths. The next stage
will occur naturally.
Stage 5: Embryonic Respiration
The breath becomes so effortless and smooth that you don't even feel
like you're breathing. If a feather were placed in front of the nostrils,
it wouldn't even flutter. Do this as long as you want.
After I do meditations like this, I can't even remember what I was thinking about before I started. Furthermore, I feel much more relaxed and present.
TREE MEDITATION
Supposedly, we can get qi from nature, which is why it is important to do qigong outside, whenever possible. Trees are a good source of qi for us because trees have similar energy. In fact, we may have even evolved as trees, according to esoteric evolutionary theory. In any case, exchanging energy with trees can provide us with beneficial qi. Furthermore, it may be especially beneficial to get some energy from trees like this:
If we could somehow infuse our scalp with such life-force determination to grow in the most adverse environment, then we could really grow some hair. It's good characteristic to embody, in general. Likewise, trees have a lot of good energy to share: they're well grounded, they stand tall and proud, they branch out, they reach for the sky, and they never stop growing. Exchanging qi with trees may give us a little of this energy, or enhance that which is already inside of us.
To do a tree meditation, find an appealing tree and stand a few feet away from it. While breathing in, imagine all of the good qi from the tree filling your body. When you exhale, imagine dumping bad qi on the ground for compost. That is, don't send it to the tree, itself. We don't want to poison the tree with our bad energy. Furthermore, it is best to ask the tree for permission to exchange energy before doing the meditation, and thank it afterwards. The approach of "not taking" from or poisoning nature will make this exercise more effective. Exchange energy with the tree for as long as it feels beneficial.
The alternative exchange is to visualize the energy cycling through you and the tree. Visualize the qi from the tree coming up from the roots, through your body, to the top of the tree, and then back down the tree, to the roots, up through you, etc.. Then, reverse the direction. When energy flows up it should do so along your spine and when it flows down it should go along the front, which is how it runs naturally along the Governing and Conception, i.e. main yinand yang, energy meridians.
ALTERNATE NOSTRIL BREATHING
This meditation corrects any yin and yang, i.e. male and female, imbalance. The two nasal pathways are channels for the polarities. The left nostril is the yin channel, and the right is the yang channel. By consciously breathing through each nostril, in an alternating manner, we can stimulate and nourish both polar energies.
The basic structure of the meditation is that you breath in slowly through the left nostril, then out through the right. Then, you breath in slowly through the right nostril and then out through the left. Then, you keep repeating. To make the exercise effective, though, we have to engage the imagination and use our intent to keep the qi moving in between breaths. So, during the in-breath, imagine a white qi mist descending through a tube to the base of the spine. Then, imagine that qi mist moving up a central tube that runs along the spine to the crown, and then back down. This is the thruster channel, on which all of the Chakras are aligned. Then, on the out-breath, imagine the mist rising up through another tube, right of center, from the base of the spine, and spraying out of the right nostril. Each phase in the sequence should last an approximate count of 4.
ORTHODONTIC INTERVENTIONS
I'll describe more qigong meditations that I think are effective for MPB on the next two pages. For now, the last breathwork topic that I want to cover is orthodontics. The human body can overcome a lot adversity with determination and focus, which qigong can help. Nevertheless, there could be a physical obstruction to getting a good quality breath due to poor cranio-facial development.
Poor cranio-facial development is caused by malnutrition. We don't get adequate nutrient intake due to a low quality food supply in the western world. As a result, our dental arches are narrow, our teeth our crowded, our maxillas are not angled forward enough, our mandibles are receded, we have overbites and cross-bites, and the nasal pathways are very very narrow or obstructed.
Mouth-breathing is not the way that nature intended for air to be consumed. It is also why, in Genesis, it is said that God breathed into Adam "through his nostrils the breath of life". God didn't breath in the "breath of life" through Adam's mouth, like in a CPR class. Rather, through the nostrils is an important detail in that account. In order to effectively cultivate qi from the atmosphere, we must be able to take quality breaths through our nostrils. If we didn't grow up eating moose kidneys and fish head stews, resulting in a narrow palate and obstructed nasal air pathways, then holistic orthodontics may be necessary to correct poor nasal pathway flow.
There are many holistic ways to correct poor facial development. Surgery is also an option, but I like to avoid that. I can only speak for what I have tried. I have had an Advanced Light-wire Function (ALF) appliance in my mouth for the past 4 years. The appliance is stimulated by natural tongue forces that gradually expand the palate in a functional way, functional to the tongue. My palate has expanded without any negative side effects during these 4 years. The primary benefit that which I have noticed is improved breathing through my left nostril. My nose was broken at basketball practice in 8th grade, and I had suffered insomnia all throughout my teens and adulthood as a consequence. I always had difficulty falling asleep, which is likely related to the left nostril, the one I couldn't breath through, being the yin energy nasal passage. Breathing through this nostril calms us down. The right one, by contrast, amps us up. It puts us in male "fight or flight" mode. Given that I could only get good breath through my "fight or flight" nostril, then it is no wonder I had difficulty falling asleep. I couldn't relax.
I noticed a breathing and sleep improvement benefit within a couple of months of the appliance being activated. It doesn't take much to open up the nasal pathways. It's a game of millimeters as this guy Jaw Hacks on YouTube says. He's got some good resources, if you are interested. He doesn't advocate for the ALF, though. Another good resource is Dr. Mew on YouTube. He is part of a father and son dental team that has been doing holistic orthodontics since the 1960's, when the father started going that direction with his practice. I have had a good experience with appliances, but others have not. You have to do your research and find a dentist that you get a good feel from.
HERBALISM
Rudolf Steiner said that "for every human illness, there is a plant that is the cure." The reason being is that, in anthroposophical evolution, as humans evolved into their current form, the energies that formed our body parts and functions physically materialized apart from us in the natural world as plants. For example, when the heart formed in our body it also materialized as the strophanthus plant. So, when we reunite with the energy of the strophanthus plant, through topical application or ingestion of an extract, then it has a beneficial effect on the heart. All of our inner machinations in the Etheric Body have such a correlation to a species of plant. It's just a matter of matching the right one to the etheric function that is lacking.
I do not have nearly enough experience with herbalism to harness the full power of plants, and use them effectively for MPB. I do have a few ideas and some basic understanding that I intend to develop further. I have made a few herbal extracts using DMSO. To make an herbal extract, you just soak the whole plant in a solvent, such as alcohol, vinegar, or DMSO. The solvent, supposedly, extracts the beneficial healing component of the plant. There are other formulations that can do this too. Essential oils do the same thing, but soak the herb in an oil or do a steam distillation process. Perhaps most interesting are the spagyric formulations, which put the herb through the alchemical process. In doing so, it transforms and exalts the healing component of the plant into a high potency formulation with maximum purity. I have no experience with spagyrics, though.
Here are some herbs that I do have experience with and think have some potential for helping directly or indirectly with MPB:
CASTOR OIL
There is guy who called himself "Swiss Temples" back in the old hair loss forums days. He rebelled against the whole MPB pathology dogma about 10 years ago, and tried something completely different that seemed to work. This is his infamous blog post. The guy clearly regrew hair, and a big part of his routine was castor oil.
I have used castor oil for years, and even tried to copy the Swiss Temples protocol a long time ago. While I have never gotten any results using it for hair growth, I have much respect for castor oil. If it is called the "oil of Christ," it must be good for something. For example, I have applied it topically over my organs to effectively recover faster from basic colds. Castor oil supplies warmth to the organ, which helps the liquify toxins to get released through the liquid garbage collection agency in our body, otherwise known as the lymphatic system. Furthermore, my wife used it to get rid of a bout of mastitis from breastfeeding our daughter. She had pain and swelling for 2-3 weeks before applying some castor oil to the area. The mastitis was completely gone after 3 days of topical castor oil. It is a good oil to have on hand, regardless of it's impact on MPB.
For most of my experience with castor oil, I had only applied it topically to my hairline. I was more under the impression that poor blood-flow was the cause of hair miniaturization. Since castor oil, in part, stimulates blood to flow to the area where it is applied, then I figured it would be helpful in this regard. However, now I am not so certain that lack of blood is the underlying cause of MPB, nor is encouraging robust flow an efficient way to reverse hair miniaturization. Nevertheless, I still think topical castor oil may be helpful in reversing MPB via de-calcification of the skull foramen.
You can see that these foramen are in the crown area. Perhaps the warming power of topical castor oil applied in the crown area could help dissolve the excess calcium deposits in the parietal foramen, which are pinching off the venous network.
Castor oil needs some help penetrating the skin, though. It either needs to be warm and stay warm, or combined with DMSO. Combining it with DMSO bypasses the need to keep a heated pack over the topical application, which makes it simple to apply to the scalp. The heating pack is more practical with abdominal applications. Still, with the heating pack, you pretty much have to lie down for about an hour. The downside of exposed castor oil is that it will stain everything, like a pillow. For topical applications to the head, I have been mixing it with DMSO and sleeping with an old t-shirt over my pillow. For abdominal applications, I just go shirtless and apply it in the middle of the day, when it is warm.
Washing out castor oil is difficult, because it is so thick. Washing it out in the morning with an egg yolk will pretty much get it all out. However, I don't shampoo very often. Usually, I just live with greasy hair for a few days. After a day, combined with some boar bristle brushing and a couple of water rinses, the grease look is pretty much gone. I typically apply castor oil every three days, and egg shampoo maybe once per week. No hair results, though. So, I can't recommend a routine.
SCHISANDRA BERRY
Schisandra berry is called "five-flavor" fruit in TCM, because it is sweet, sour, pungent, salty, and bitter. Combining the five-flavors is a TCM therapy, most commonly as guide for food preparation. This five-flavor aspect to the schisandra plant berry, though, makes it a potent liver herb. For some reason, the liver is invigorated by this balance.
Specifically, schisandra berry helps the liver manage stress. When we feel stress, the liver gets stressed, and the qi rises. If we are regularly stressed out, which is common in modern living, or even if we have removed the major chronic stressor in our life, but our liver has not yet adapted to the stress removed state, then taking schisandra berry extract can help our liver recover from stress and keep the qi from rising.
It is common, when taking formulations of this herb, to see an overall improvement in vitality, as well. For example, there are accounts of grey hair darkening, and skin can regaining a more youthful glow. This is evidence of improved life-force flow, and improved life-force flow to the hair, in particular, given that it can reverse greying. If our hair is miniaturizing due to a lack of life-force flow, then something that promotes more vigorous flow, and flow to the hair, is going to aid in our efforts to grow back dying hair.
I bought a bag of whole schisandra berries, and then soaked some in DMSO for 3-4 weeks (both affiliate links). This makes it into an herbal extract. I take about a tablespoon of it at a time. I have not noticed much of an effect, though. However, it may be that we do not enjoy the full benefit until we stop taking it. The caution with herbs is that they are not something that we are supposed to take indefinitely. Herbs are not food. Rather, they are a temporary intervention. Rather than taking them everyday, it may be most effective to take them when needed, like schisandra berry after a stressful experience, or when seasonally appropriate, like schisandra berry in the Spring when it is the season to work on our liver, in TCM. DMSO may not be the best extract formulation either. I get some digestive distress when I take it. As a future project, I'm interested in making a spagyric formulation of this herb. At the very least, it's a good opportunity to immerse myself in the alchemical process.
CHAMOMILE
Chamomile is a potent copper herb. Therefore, it can help balance our iron energy. I have had success with it is a sleep aid. When I make it into a tea, I notice that I fall asleep fast and stay asleep longer throughout the night. This is a common effect, as chamomile is touted as a nervous system calming herb. I think that has to do with copper, which is the best conductor of electrical energy, and how it balances out male "fight or flight" stress energy.
I have also made chamomile into an herbal extract, but I haven't used it much. I will use it more once I'm done with my batch of schisandra berry extract. I am also curious to mix the DMSO extract with castor oil and apply it topically. Maybe the copper infusion into the scalp will conduct some electrical energy there.
Chamomile is easy to find. It is common for local health stores have it in bulk. To make the tea, simply bring water to a boil, dump some chamomile in it (a heaping tablespoon or so), let it steep for 5-7 minutes, strain it, and drink the liquid. In addition, I boil the water for 15 minutes in order to ionize the water, which has detoxification benefits. Then, I store it in a thermos to keep it hot.
Homeopathy
Homeopathy means "similar suffering." The idea is to find a plant, or other thing, in nature that has a similar behavior as our disease. Then, you extract the essence of that plant, or thing, and dilute to infinitesimal amounts to purify and potentiate the energy. For example, mistletoe grows very similarly to how cancer grows in the body. Therefore, homeopathic mistletoe is used as treatment for cancer. For some reason, when you expose the body to a diluted form of the thing that has the energy of the problem you have, the body learns how to overcome it.
The key thing that you want to look for in a homeopathic remedy, from what I understand, is how the behavior of the plant, or thing, relates to you, and not so much your disease. It's not as simple as I have "this", so give me that remedy. In acute applications, your symptoms have to match the energetic profile of the remedy. For chronic conditions, like MPB, your constitution has to match the energetic profile of the plant. The pathology is in the way we are, not in the disease.
The approach to homeopathy and MPB is to figure out what is it about us that is manifesting as MPB. For example, if it is fear, then that fear is influencing us on an etheric level. An energetic signature from a homeopathic remedy that mimics the root of our fear can positively alter our etheric flow. The fear no longer becomes an etheric disturbance. The real solution, in this scenario, is to face your fears in person, and conquer them in efforts to alchemically transform; however, even if we do so, the etheric disturbance created by the fear could persist. The homeopathic effect on the Etheric Body would be to correct that disturbance. Or, it may even be that the relief in the etheric disturbance may make the facing of the fears be less daunting. In that sense, homeopathy can be used adjunctly with deeper soul and spiritual interventions.
Homeopathic remedies come in a few formulations. There are sucrose pills and there are liquid drops. I use the liquid drops to avoid the sugar. I&E Apothecary makes liquid drops using colloidal silver (not affiliated). I've been buying from them. As far as potencies, chronic conditions are treated with higher dilutions. Most homeopaths recommend 30C, 200C, and sometimes 1M for such. Lower dilutions are for acute conditions, 30C and below. So, 30C can go either way. It might take some experimentation with 30C, 200C, and 1M to get the right remedy for us. I think we need to be in somewhere in the higher dilution range with MPB, because the disease is more energetic than acute in origin.
For frequency, 30C can be taken every day and even multiple times per day, 200C should only be taken 1-2 times per week, and 1M+ should only be taken once per month. I made the mistake of taking a 10M formulation every day. That's too much. As far as the number of drops or pellets, it doesn't matter. The dose is in the frequency, more so than the amount at once.
Some homeopaths have people take all of the dilutions for a remedy. For example, you take 30C every day, except for the days when you take 200C or 1M. This might be a good approach because Samuel Hahnemann, who developed this healing modality in the 1790's, advised to mix up the potencies day to day to keep the body from acclimating. Although, another easy way to change the potency is to dilute the remedy in more water, and sip that.
Hahnemann also advised to only use one homeopathic remedy at a time. However, there are many modern homeopaths that recommend several at once. I've been experimenting with both. I can feel the effects of all of the remedies individually, but I could see how there might be some energetic confusion, or how the etheric body may not be able to handle the influence of so many energy signatures over the course of one day. Lately, I have been experimenting with one remedy per moon cycle. And the following are homeopathic remedies that I have been using:
LYCOPODIUM CLAVATUM
The lycopdium plant, supposedly, used to be a tall and grand tree. It has since been reduced to a little tiny moss. This remedy will match your constitution if you you have fear that stems from a lack of self-confidence and a nagging disappointment that you were destined for greater things in your life, but have not yet realized them, especially due to fear.
Since the plant profile matches my type of fear of failure, and the likely the source of my underlying grief and anger, then I was inclined to use the higher 200C and the 1M dose, in a addition to the 30C for this remedy. The positive effects that I have noticed, thus far, are significant constipation relief and an overall calming effect in my emotional constitution.
WIESBADEN AQUA
The dilutions for this remedy come from a rich mineral springs in Germany. The waters themselves are healing, but the homeopathic version is supposedly good for recovery from rapid hair shedding and diffuse thinning. However, it may cause shedding at first. That's how these remedies work sometimes.
I've been taking Wiesbaden Aqua lately because I was experimenting with bee venom therapy on my scalp throughout the Summer, which caused massive shedding. The Wiesbaden has not seemed to alleviate the shedding, although sometimes remedies work once you stop taking it. The reason being is that the body will redetermine that the causative agent in the symptom to be the homeopathic remedy itself, and thus stopping the remedy will stop the symptom. So, in my case, if I could get the body to assign the causative agent of the shedding to be the Wiesbaden remedy, which takes a few weeks of taking the remedy, then by stopping it I would stop the shed. Homeopathy is fun stuff. There are multiple strategies with these remedies.
ROSEMARINUS OFFICINALIS
Rosemary is touted amongst natural hair loss gurus as a blood-flow stimulant. I think there is some truth to that, although I have not had any success with it as a topical. However, it might be more effective in homeopathic form.
Shakespeare said "Rosemary is for remembrance." It promotes strong memory, probably because it helps improve circulation to the head. However, as I have often mentioned, hair loss may not be all blood-flow. But, blood and qi tend to go together. Maybe rosemary can help redirect some qi, in addition to blood, back to our dormant hair follicles, and especially given that it is triggering a response in our Etheric Body.
The most interesting thing about Rosemary as an MPB treatment, which I mentioned on the home page, is from a homeopathic remedy book excerpt from 1906 that I found online. It reads that amongst the conditions that rosemarinus officinalis treats is "round head (baldness)." Again, I did not add the "parentheses baldness" part. The implication is that, over a century ago, medical practitioners understood the causative agent in MPB to be rounding of the skull, which obscures the contours. What is also interesting to me, is that, when I take this homeopathic remedy, I start having noticeable memory problems. As I mentioned, the homeopathic remedies often induce the symptom that they cure, which is actually a way to alleviate the symptom. Rounding of the head is expansion of the skull due too much activity in the pre-frontal cortex, at least according to my theory. So, perhaps the mechanism through which this remedy is effective for treating round head, is that it makes it more difficult for us to think. If can't remember anything, then I am less inclined to think, more inclined to focus on my experience in the present, and more inclined to rely on my intuition, all of which should mitigate skull expansion.
MAGNESIUM PHOSPHORICA
This is the first homeopathic remedy that I ever took. I took it for insomnia. I was having difficulty falling asleep, and I would wake up early in the morning and not be able to go back to sleep after months of taking activated bamboo charcoal. As a consequence, I was doing 1 or 2 epsom salt foot baths per night before bed, in order to get enough of the relaxing effect of the magnesium to fall back asleep. In addition, I would have to do them during the middle of the night if I woke up, and couldn't fall back asleep, which was fairly frequent. After I took this remedy in 10M potency, I didn't need a foot bath every night before bed to fall asleep. Furthermore, if I woke up in the middle of the night, then I was able to fall back asleep on my own.
For me, it seems like magnesium phosphorica has both the relaxing effect of a magnesium supplement, and helps me to retain and utilize the magnesium that I get from the foot baths and in my food, so that I don't have to supplement as much. With respect to MPB, magnesium is the most important mineral for de-calcification, which is what we need to happen in our skull foramen. Therefore, it may be good to take, occasionally, as a means to utilize the magnesium that we are making an effort to get in our bodies. Regardless, it's easier to take this than making a footbath in a dark cold kitchen at 3am, because you have been awake for an hour in bed and can't relax enough to fall back asleep.
SILICEA
Silica is an important hair mineral, as well as for the skin and body, in general. We probably don't get enough of this mineral due to the poor food and water supply, and overall lack of exposure to nature. Although homeopathic remedies do not supply the mineral itself in substantial amounts, the energy of the mineral may be an adequate substitute. In fact, it may be more of the energetic component to the minerals than the physical mineral itself that our bodies actually need. Or perhaps the Physical Body is nourished by the physical mineral, but the Etheric Body is nourished by the energy of the mineral. At the very least, I think that we need both.
Silicea is recommended as a hair loss treatment for someone who likely suffers from nutrient deficiency, and not really pattern loss. That makes sense because a lack of silica would affect the quality of the hair, or thickness, and not so much a pattern loss. Nevertheless, I got some because I related to the profile of the remedy. It is a match for people who are irritable and lack self- confidence. If it can help manage our anger, then it could help prevent skull expansion.
My experience in taking it, is that it makes me more irritable. However, I don't mind this because I want to work on not expressing or holding on to my anger. So, by virtue of making me more prone to irritability, homeopathic silicea could maybe help with learning to control my emotions, so long as I work to not express that anger. This would make it a Spirit Body intervention, as well. The other potential benefit, of course, is that when I stop taking it, it may be that I will be less prone to irritation, because my Etheric Body has reassigned the causative agent of that irritation to be the remedy.
Sound Therapy
Nikola Tesla said something to the effect of "if you want to understand the secrets of the universe, think in terms of energy, frequency, and vibration." In fact, harmonic frequencies are the foundation of our anatomy. For example, the ratio of the length of the eight bones that run from the shoulders to the tip of the fingers, and from the hips to the tip of the toes, are the same ratio as the intervals that lie between the notes in an octave scale.
Our ancestors understood that we are musical beings, which is why our internal organs share the same name as the musical instrument section in old cathedrals. In addition, the structures included highly conductive copper antennas and water. The energy of the heavens harnessed through the conductive antennas, combined with the frequencies generated by the organs, and the receptivity of water to store these natural Earth vibrations, power life on this realm.
The old cathedrals were monuments dedicated to the understanding that everything on the Earth runs on frequencies, electrical fields, and the intelligence of water. In addition, they built those magnificent buildings, which no architect and construction team today could replicate, supposedly with primitive tools, in order to harness the electromagnetic power of the ether, concerted with sound frequencies of the ORGANS, in order to heal and nourish us. In an age where we are exposed to many, near constant, unnatural electromagnetic fields and ambient sounds, we must make efforts to avoid the destructive effects of, and learn how to, alternatively, access the healing power of frequencies.
HEALING THE INTERNAL ORGANS - QIGONG MEDITATION
I am aware of one qigong meditation that uses sound frequency healing. This meditation focuses on making five sounds that have a healing effect on each of the five yin organs (lungs, kidney, liver, heart, and spleen). In particular, these sounds expel toxic qi from the organs. Somehow, the ancient Chinese medical practitioners figured out that these sounds had this sort of effect, much like the architects of the cathedrals. Full disclosure, it was likely because they could actually see into the human body.
This meditation can be performed standing or sitting. I usually do it while standing, though. Focus on one organ at a time. On the inhale, breath through the nose while imagining healing qi enter the organ. On the exhale, imagine toxic qi leaving the organ while making the following sound for each organ: lungs - see-ahh, kidneys - chroeeee, liver - shhhhhhuuuuu (flat u), heart - hooooooo (as in "hook"), spleen - whoooooo (as in "who"), and the triple burner (entire torso) - seeee.
Do three repetitions for each organ. You can do more for organs that you feel need extra attention.
TUNING FORKS
I have not scratched the surface on tuning fork therapy. I have a few tuning forks, and I've done some experimenting. I need to do more. From what I understand, these forks are set to special frequencies that resonate with us in unique ways.
There are weighted and unweighted tuning forks. The weighted ones are usually lower frequencies that are more foundational, or corporeal, as they get into our bones. For that reason, they may be a good adjunctive therapy to skull compressions. For example, it might help us to restructure bone. Weighted forks are typically sold as a Otto Tuning Fork Set (affiliate link), which typically comes in frequencies of 32hz, 64hz, and 128hz. The weighted feature increases the intensity of the vibration. The bottom of the vibrating fork is then placed on the body, against the skeleton, in parts in need of healing or some stimulation.
I have been doing self-administered tuning fork sessions where I put the activated weighted tuning fork over chakras, or specific acupuncture points on the skull that are supposed to be relevant to hair growth. For example, I'll put it on the heart chakra (solar plexus), third eye, and crown chakra (bai hui acupuncture point), along with a few other acupuncture points that I have researched. I do this, ideally, before headstands and wall presses. The tuning fork, supposedly, stimulates an acupuncture point with a 2-3 repetitions just as well as a needle. At the very least, it's a fun way to learn about acupuncture points, meridians, and chakras.
The higher frequencies are more etheric. The Solfeggio Scale, in particular, is an full octave set that resonates with our organs. I bought a weighted 528hz tuning fork (affiliate link). This one is called the "love frequency", as it especially resonates with the heart and the heart chakra. This fork is advertized to be able to "transform your DNA." I'm not sure about the whole DNA thing, but I do believe in the healing power of love. Furthermore, since lack of love for the heart is part of the pathology of MPB, according to my theory, then I think this a good fork to have if you can't afford the whole Solfeggio Scale (affiliate link) set.
I use the 528hz fork on the chakras and acupuncture points, as well as just bathe my body with the sound. The higher frequencies (as in the solfeggio scale) don't vibrate as long. Therefore, they are typically used for sound bathing, rather than being placed on the body. There are no "rules", though. Since this fork doesn't vibrate as long as the lower frequencies, I will do more repetitions.
Lunar Hair Care
I think that the lunar cycle is an untapped energy reservoir in this day and age, considering that everything used to be done by the lunar calendar and now nothing is. For example, farmers always planted according to the lunar cycle. If you think of your hair as a type of crop that grows in a fertile, or now not so fertile, soil, then you may want to harvest your hair according to the lunar cycle like our ancestors did.
FULL MOON CUTS
Full moons, equinoxes, and solstices are the most powerful times to cut our hair. These events have unique influences on our hair based on the zodiac configuration in which they are occurring. And just like harvesting a crop at the wrong time, cutting at the wrong time can result in suboptimal hair outcomes.
There is a website called Morrocco Method International (unaffiliated), which has a full calendar guide to lunar hair care. The Morrocco Method was developed by this Tony Morrocco guy, who was introduced to older systems of hair care when starting his hair dressing career. He uses the Mayan calendar, and TCM philosophy, in order to organize his calendar. According to him, there are 5 unique energies within each lunar cycle that you can uniquely access from a cut: lengthen, strengthen, thicken, root work, and beautify. This is based on 5 element theory in TCM, in which there are 5 organ systems, 5 seasons (includes a "late summer"), and is consistent with themes of 5 in nature (e.g. 5 fingers, 5 toes, and 5 senses).
Hair cuts have to be done using scissors and using a "blunt snip" method, which means you cut a chunk off all at once, and don't cut that area any further. I have found that this is difficult to perform on myself, especially near the ears and the back of the head, as those areas typically need some more refinement. I'm getting better at it though. It takes practice. Tony has some YouTube tutorials on how to do it.
In general, Tony recommends cutting 1/8" portions of the hair each month, and saving larger cuts for the major solar events, especially in the Spring. The reason for cutting more hair off in the Spring is that we store trauma in our hair. Winters can be traumatic, at least traditionally. Survival used to be not so easy. The result is a lot of stress and suffering that goes to our hair, perhaps because the life-force is also stored there. I don't know. But this is explains why women have the impulse to cut their hair off when they have a break-up. It may also be why cutting your hair on a full moon is especially powerful, as it is a time for release.
In my three years experience doing lunar hair care, I can say that it will not reverse a receding hair line. Tony, himself, has MPB. However, it does seem to have a positive effect on the hair that is not yet impacted by skull expansion. Furthermore, it has made me much more aware of where I am in the lunar cycle, which helps maintain rhythm and stimulates the female polar force. Therefore, I still only shave and cut my hair once per month, on either the strengthening, root work, or thickening energy days. Sometimes, I'll cut on the solstice or equinox too.
BOAR BRISTLE BRUSHING
This is not lunar per se, but I got it from Tony Morrocco. In old movies, you see a lot of scenes of women brushing each other's hair, especially older women brushing the hair of younger women. This is important for hair care because the sebum that seeps out of the skin at the base of the shaft is a hair nourishing oil. The boar bristle brush distributes that sebum throughout the shaft, which delivers important nutrients to the parts of the follicle that are far from the base. Furthermore, if the sebum builds too much at the base of the shaft, it can clog the pore and damage the follicle. The overall effect is a healthier hair follicle.
Another benefit to brushing is that it stimulates energy meridians that run from the eye brows to the base on the back of the neck. It just so happens that Tony recommends to start boar bristle brushing from the base of the back of the neck and brush up to the front of the hairline. Then, you reverse direction. This will stimulate all of those meridians. In regards to sebum, the base of the neck is especially fatty and rich in sebum. Brushing from back to front is an effective way to distribute our oil. Furthermore, the friction of the brush can help push blood up the arteries, that run along the sides of of the head, to the top of the skull, where the blood vessels are much thinner. I also will brush up from the sideburn area to the hairline, for that reason.
In my experience, this is another thing that will not regrow a receded hair line. However, I have found it useful for managing oil levels in my hair. I put castor oil in my hair and don't shampoo (egg) very often. In fact, I have gone years without shampooing my hair. Boar bristle brushing improves the look of greasy hair. My wife bought such a brush years ago, but never used it. I adopted it about a year ago. It's mine now. If you are interested, try to get something like this German Boar Bristle Brush (affiliate link), which is made of only wood and boar hair. But, they are easy to find. Some stores even carry them.
On the subject of shampoo, Tony makes a descent shampoo. If you don't want to wash your hair with an egg, which is what I do, and prefer the typical shampoo gel-like viscosity, the Morrocco Method has some interesting TCM inspired five energy shampoos, like this (affiliate link). They are not going to grow your hair back, at least I doubt it, but they are not toxic. There is one ingredient that I'm not too fond of in his shampoo. But, it's not that bad, and I still use his shampoos on occasion (when I'm out of eggs). You are not going to find any manufactured product without at least some ingredient that is not so natural. So, overall, it's a good one to buy if you want a normal kind of shampoo experience.
I occasionally do his bentonite clay hair detox (affiliate link), though. This doesn't have anything unnatural in it. It's just clay and some herbs. Clay binds to heavy metals and toxins, which is why I eat it, but hair also has a particular affinity to store heavy metals and toxins in it, which is why people do hair mineral tests for toxicity diagnoses. It may be related to how the hair tends to store trauma. In any case, it could improve the life-force in the hair if we help get those heavy metals removed. A hair follicle may be more likely to have the will to survive if it is more free of toxins, as we are, or any plant in nature. I do these clay masks every month or so. And I boar bristle brush at least once per day.
LUNAR ROUTINES
I am against routines. I used to have them. I've followed many of them, especially for hair loss, throughout my entire adult life. However, recently, I have been indiscriminately eliminating routines from my life. They are bad for a constitutional male imbalance, bad for our Spirit, and bad for maintaining rhythm with the Earth. The Earth is not in a routine, at least not in the way that we are routine in modern living. We have to break the health intervention approach of "do this twice a day" or "take this three times per week", because it detaches us from our connection to the Earth, or, at the very least, is a missed opportunity to become more attached to the rhythms of the Earth and potentially increase the effectiveness of the intervention.
Instead of a routine, we need to think in terms of seasonality, lunar cycle, and our overall feel. For example, as a I mentioned earlier, liver flushes are best done near the new moon and during the Spring, which is the season that corresponds to the liver in TCM. So, a good "routine" for this intervention would be to do liver flushes on every new moon after the Spring Equinox for the duration of the Spring season, or until we FEEL like we have done enough. If we are still doing liver flushes in December, then we're probably not listening to how we FEEL. The notion of a liver intervention in the Winter should not appeal to us naturally. And by doing liver flushes once per month on the 1st Saturday throughout the entire year, for example, we are disconnecting ourselves from our experiences, our bio-rhythms, the synchronicity with the Earth, and are using an intervention in a suboptimal way that may actually be harmful.
If we are inclined to do anything routine with a hair intervention, and not everything can be perfectly non-routine, then one way to make it more rhythmic is to synchronize it with the lunar cycle. For example, the 200C dilution of a homeopathic remedy is recommended to be taken once per week. Instead of doing it every Friday, which is routine, take the dosage on a day that happens within one of the five peak energy periods of the month, aligned with Tony Morrocco's Lunar Calendar. There are always five per month, which is about once per week. We could do a bentonite clay mask on each of these dates too. Or we can do something else every full moon and new moon, or just on the new moon or the full moon, i.e. whatever appeals to us. This is a way to turn a routine into something that positively connects us with the rhythms of the Earth and our own experiences.
Note that the lunar energy dates will occur around the new moon, quarter moon, full moon, waning gibbous, and three quarter moon, which correspond to the five seasons (Winter, Spring, Summer, Late Summer, Autumn) in TCM. The peak energy dates will not always perfectly align with the actual day, though, because the Mayan calendar takes into account the energy of the configuration of the Zodiac in which the lunar event is occurring.
Massaging
I've experimented with massages for about 7 years now. In my experience, they are not going to regrow hair as a stand alone treatment. However, I still do them. Lately, I have been more focused on the massages that have more of a life-force stimulating effect than a blood-flow one.
The following is a description of each of massages that I have used or still regularly incorporate, along with their potential benefit. I have included mechanical stimulation techniques aimed at blood-flow stimulation as well, even though I do them less frequently. There is some overlap though. The first massage, in particular, can have both a blood and a life-force flow stimulatory effect.
CIRCULAR MASSAGES
Use your fingers, or a massage tool, to press into the skull, and then move the skin in circular motions. I usually use my hands, but hand massage tools are fun, if you want to spend 20 bucks on something like this (affiliate link). I use this technique mostly on the forehead and the scalp perimeter muscles, when they feel tight. The relaxation of these muscles helps reduce scalp tension, which may slightly impact hair loss.
More intriguing to me is that, in TCM, counter-clockwise is calming and clockwise is stimulating. I didn't learn that until recently. A good spot to hit with some stimulatory clockwise circles is the bai hui acupuncture point, which is located at the crown. It stimulates qi flow, especially in the scalp region. There are also two points located at the corners of the hairline that influence hair growth as well, which are good to target. An all over the top of the scalp counter-clockwise massage session may be helpful too, if you have time.
TEN FINGER QIGONG COMBING EXERCISE
The King of Chinese Medicine, Sun Simiao, who allegedly lived to 141 years old, recommended combing your fingers through your hair as part of 13 exercises to improve longevity. This movement stimulates the bai hui acupuncture point, as well as those energy meridians that run along the scalp.
To perform this exercise, simply run your fingers along your scalp from the forehead to the base of the back of the neck. That's one repetition. The King recommended 10 repetitions and doing it twice per day. However, more may be necessary to bring the life-force flow back to the hair. I have been doing this massage much more frequently throughout the day.
QIGONG TAPPING
Light tapping with the fingers and palms of the hands is another way to improve qi flow to an area. Simply tap all around your skull for as long as it feels good, in order to get the qi flowing. I do this on my entire body in the morning. Good places to tap on the body include: the insides and outsides of the legs, the middle front and back of the torso, the inside and outside of the arms, the kidneys, the heart, and the backs and palms of the hands, I haven't gotten any hair results, but I feel like it wakes my body up with vigorous qi flow.
PINCHES
Scalp pinches don't have any energetic benefit, as far as I'm aware. It's more to relieve the tension in the galea from it being pulled tight as a result of skull expansion and tight perimeter muscles. In doing so, it could help relieve the strain on the thin arterial network there, which would improve blood-flow on top of the scalp.
I did these consistently for two years without any noticeable hair benefit. Lately, I have been doing it every third night to massage in castor oil. It may be good to relieve some tension in the scalp. However, I notice that my scalp is tightest in the areas where I still have hair, which is a flaw in the Scalp Tension Theory proposed by alternative hair loss reversal YouTube personalities. The major reason why I still do it, is because it helps massage in the castor oil.
To do a pinch, push the fingers from both hands into the scalp a few inches apart. Then squeeze them together. The result should be that the scalp in between the fingers gets pinched up, stretching the skin. Adjust the location and angle of the pinches for optimal stretching, and just do it on the galea (top of the skull). If you haven't done these ever, be warned that you will get a lot dandruff, grease, and shedding at first.
NECK AND SHOULDER MASSAGES
At least for overall health, it's best to avoid a tight posterior chain, which runs from the trapezoids muscles up to the galea, through the scalp perimeter muscles. This chain of events is what proponents of The Scalp Tension Theory believe causes hair loss. I don't subscribe to that theory any longer, but I still do this massage occasionally.
Once or twice a day, max, I'll just man handle, for lack of a better term, the traps and neck muscles. Then, I'll work my way up to the scalp perimeter muscles and dig into those with my fingers. It's good to do if you are tense or have been working on the computer for a while. Tension is bad, overall. At the very least, it could relieve any emotional tension that is having an indirect negative effect on hair.
FULL BODY QIGONG MASSAGE
Most, if not all, of the natural hair loss recovery massage protocol pushers warn not to massage with friction. That is, no rubbing. In qigong massages, however, there seems to be lot of rubbing. Both points have encouraged me to do more rubbing massages in my hair loss areas. The following is a full body qigong massage, with lots of rubbing, in which I have added a hair stimulating component. The massage is best done at the end of the day, or after qigong or vigorous exercise. The massage spreads qi all over the body. So, that is a ripe time to send it specifically to areas that are sore, or are otherwise in need.
* The instructions are to repeat each part of the sequence 10 times

Bee Venom Therapy
Lately, I have been stinging myself with bees. It hasn't regrown any hair, but I am still intrigued by the healing power of bees. For example, bee stings are used as an osteo-arthritis treatment, which is stiffened joints due to excessive mineral (i.e. calcium) deposits. Since bee venom causes acute inflammation in the area of the sting, this helps dissolve the calcium deposit in the joint of an arthritis sufferer. Basically, bee venom is capable of providing the warmth that the body needs to reverse sclerosis. Since MPB is a sclerotic disease, then this therapy could be useful. And even though a bee sting is painful, it's not as painful as, and we can heal much more quickly than, any attempt to surgically decalcify the skull foramen.
I've tried stinging my head with bees a few times. It hurts and swells, but it's overall not that bad. The first four times I stung my hairline only, because I was relying on the natural hair loss recovery internet echo chamber and thought the calcification was in the bald tissue. All it did was make my hair shed intensely. The last time I tried it, though, I stung the crown area. I was aiming for the bai hui acupuncture point, which is associated with hair growth, and the parietal foramen, which are the foramen that I suspect get calcified according to the account of Frederick Hoelzel. I also tried to sting the tuowei acupuncture points at the corners of the hairline, also associated with hair growth. I didn't get any new hair, and the bees went into hibernation. I'll try again next Spring, though.
I read that old world bee keepers would soak crushed honey bees in alcohol and apply it topically to reverse baldness. Therefore, I have also soaked some dead ones that I found in DMSO to make such an extract. I then combine that with castor oil and use it as a topical. It hasn't regrown any hair. So, I don't have a magic formula for hair growth yet. If you want to try to make your own, but you don't have bees, then you can buy powdered bee venom, for not that cheap, from various internet sources.
Microneedling
I have used every derma-roller, stamp, needle length, and frequency since 2013. But, I just can't regrow any hair with this therapy. I've seen cool results, though, even on guys with bulging heads like mine. It's rare. Maybe like one guy ever. But, I have seen it. It's worthy to note that the guy also used minoxidil, and that his results did not last. Nevertheless, it still did something, at least for a little while, with a vasodilator.
The rationale behind microneedling is that the small puncture wounds stimulate a tolerable acute inflammation response in the area. Due to the inflammation the area swells with additional resources through increased blood-flow. In addition, the wounding supposedly releases "growth factors", maybe in the form of hormones, that tell the stupid body to grow things, like hair, by way of having to rebuild tissue that has undergone trauma from the puncture wounds. Finally, the whole injury and recovery process encourages angiogenesis, which is new blood vessel formation, in the area, in order to improve the circulatory system's efforts to deliver blood to there going forward. The overall result, theoretically, is better blood flow, better hormones, and better hair. This all assumes that poor blood-flow is the causative agent in male pattern baldness, or at lease somewhere in the chain of events.
I have an alternate theory, of course. Let's assume that the hair is dying due to lack of life-force flow to the hair follicle, instead of blood. In this model, the meridian to the hair follicle is being choked off, and the hair is withering away due to a lack of life-force. It doesn't die immediately, however, because there is still blood that is getting delivered to the base of the shaft. Blood contains qi, or at least drives qi to where it is flowing. Vasodilators, angiogenesis, acute inflammation, inversion therapy, and such blood-flow stimulatory efforts, WILL deliver additional blood to the hair follicle, and therefore qi. This qi, which I suspect is not as hearty and doesn't flow as strongly as the qi that flows through the energy meridians, will prop up a life-force deprived hair follicle with some supplemental qi. However, this is a losing battle over time, because there is only so much qi that can be driven through the blood vessels. The primary purpose of which, rather, is physical substance nutrition delivery. Whatever maximum qi capacity there is in the blood, combined with painstaking efforts to get additional blood to the follicle, is going to struggle against less and less qi being supplied through the meridians. Therefore, this model could explain the temporary success of microneedling, minoxidil, and other vasodilation efforts, along with various nutritional efforts, for rare and less severe hair loss cases.
Since vasodilation efforts have a life-force stimulatory component to it, albeit a weak one, I still micro-needle. Currently, I use a manual stamp that my acupuncturist gave me. It's very flexible and you tap your head with it with whatever amount of force you want. I don't know what depth of wound this produces, and I don't care. Everyone has a different opinion on that, and no one knows for sure what the exact length and frequency is. It probably doesn't even matter. There is not one combination that produces consistent results, nor is there only one that has produced results. So, as with all of this, I just go off of feel. I'm also inclined to synchronize it with the lunar cycle. None of the bio-hackers are doing that.
The additional benefit to using the flexible tapping needle is that the tapping has a life-force stimulating effect, in and of itself. I couldn't find the needle that I got from my acupuncturist on Amazon, but I found a website that sells them here. They are cheap. I've spent almost $400 on microneedling machines in the past. I've also gotten some expensive rollers. In my experience, It's a waste of money. This $2 bendy thing probably has just as good of a chance at regrowing hair as any of the high end stuff.
EMF Mitigation
5G, wifi, phones, and the growing amount of radio-frequency emitting devices distort the Earth's natural etheric grid. That's a problem because the life-force is in the grid. When a cell tower is erected, then the area around it has a new, non-beneficial, etheric grid. This disrupts the flow of the life-force in us, within our own electromagnetic grid. This new type of etheric grid is inhospitable to life on Earth, which is why animal populations disappear and trees start to die when these towers are activated. They contain a death-force, more so than a life-force. The effect is that they severely impair coherence in our Etheric Bodies.
TOWER BUSTERS AND EARTH PIPES
The natural etheric energy is stored in mineral crystals, like quartz. For this reason, death-force EMF fighters have been burying these things called "tower busters" and copper "earth pipes" near cell towers to help restore the natural etheric grid. The tower busters are little hockey puck looking things that contain quartz crystals mixed with metal shavings and resin. The compression effect of the resin mold and the metal shavings stimulates and amplifies the piezoelectric effect in the quartz crystals, which is a compression induced electric charge. The result is an energy grid that overpowers, or harmonizes, whatever is coming from local EMF emitting devices, even cell towers. The copper pipes contain the same mixture, but they are intended to be driven down into the actual Earth to restore the ley lines.
It is important to avoid living in close proximity to cell towers, being in the same room as an wifi router, using smart phones, carrying smart phones on our bodies not in airplane mode, etc. in order for our life-force to flow strongly and coherently within us. But, having some orgone energy devices in our house, and with us when we travel, is probably a necessity nowadays. That is, until everyone wakes up to this, and we have an ether restoring revolution. Since everywhere I go, including Weston A. Price Conferences where everyone is aware of EMF stuff, I'm almost always the only adult who is not carrying a smart phone, then I don't expect this revolution to happen anytime soon. So, I'm going with the hockey pucks right now.
I have bought tower busters and copper pipes from both The Orgone Donor and TheChembow (not affiliated ). I heard them on podcasts, and liked what they had to say. I would buy theirs again. They are not the only ones who do this. For example, I found these tower busters (affiliate link) on Amazon, if you are loading up your cart. It's all pretty much the same stuff. You can even make them. I have ten of the tower busters distributed throughout my house, and I take them when I travel. In addition, if you want to get some extra to bury near cell towers in your area, then your community will unknowingly appreciate it. The weather may improve too, since cell towers may be primarily a geoengineering technologically.
FARADAY CAGES
Even though I have tower busters, I still take measures to reduce radio-frequency EMF in the house. For example, I put a box over my wifi- router wrapped in aluminum foil in order to reduce the field strength. This is called a faraday cage, and it's the least sophisticated one you can do, though effective. Alternatively, one can be built out of any metallic mesh, which allows for better ventilation for the router. Solid metal walls are not necessary because radio-waves are too big to get through a metal mesh.
The problem with the faraday cage is that it will weaken the wifi signal to the extent that you have difficulty getting wifi on your device, thus defeating the purpose of having wifi. However, we don't want to be near an EMF receiving device anyway, because that thing also creates the death-force field. So, the solution is to run the internet through ethernet cables and CONNECT them to our devices. It has been so exciting to see the world go wireless in my lifetime, but now I'm back to using wires.
It is possible to get really long ethernet cables, run them across the house, wires everywhere, roll them up for company, and live like that. We did. But, then we got these netgear boxes (affiliate link) that plug into the wall, near the computer, and provide an internet connection locally. Furthermore, the box does not emit any radio-frequencies. It just requires a short ethernet cable that extends from the nearest electrical outlet. We keep the wifi-router in the garage, which has to be plugged into one of these things too in order to work, and have two additional non-emitting netgear boxes in the actual house to connect the internet to our computers. Overall, it's a much less cluttered house, and I could not even do the long cables these days now that I have a toddler.
EMF METERS
Having an RF EMF meter is useful for mitigating exposure in the house, testing EMF blocking efforts, and identifying EMF sources while traveling. If you have a few hundred dollars to spare, it's worth the investment. I bought an Acoustimeter for measuring radio-frequency EMF, which is anything that communicates via radio-waves and can connect to the internet without a wire (wifi, phones, bluetooth, cell towers). I just learned that the company that makes the Acoustimeter is no longer in business. Maybe you can find one on Ebay. If not, then this meter (affiliate link) looks similar in terms of function and price to the one that I have. At the very least, this is a base of what to look for when starting your research.
In addition to the Acoustimeter, I have a TriField (affiliate link) meter. This meter measures all three types of fields that an electrical thing will generate: radio-frequency, electric, and magnetic. Only devices that communicate wirelessly will generate a radio-frequency (RF) EMF. But, everything that runs on electricity will create both an electric and magnetic field, such as home appliances, lights, light switches, air filters, space heaters, computers, phones, and all the walls that have electrical wires running through them to power the house.
All three types of EMF fields interfere with our biological functions, even though RF is arguably the most harmful and increasingly difficult to avoid right now. The TriField is a poor meter for measuring the RF EMF, but it is very accurate when measuring the other two types of EMF fields. It's good for testing air filters, saunas, cars, lights, walls near beds, laptops, and just general stuff around the house to figure out how to reduce as much electrical field influence on us as possible.
BLUE LIGHT GLASSES
Even if our computers, phones, or tablets are not emitting radio-frequencies, they still emit an unnatural light with a skewed spectral distribution, known as blue light. Electronics emit more of the the blue light than the red light in the color spectrum. The blue light amps us up, and the red light calms us down. This is a familiar imbalance that we want to avoid. In general, it causes many health problems, mainly because it throws off our bio-rhythms. It is best to avoid screens entirely, but until we all re-learn how to farm, without electricity, off of the land, and out in the country, then we are going to need a pair of blue light glasses.
As I mentioned on this website, I had a back injury a few years ago that resulted in lingering nerve pain, which I had for a year and a half until I started eating copper-rich foods and wearing blue light glasses. Excessive blue light exposure was interfering with my body's ability to heal, somehow. The chiropractor told me it is was because my brain was fried from blue light and that the red light will calm the nervous system down so that the brain can focus on healing the damaged nerve. I don't know if that's how everything worked, but it worked. Furthermore, after 4 years of wearing them, it hurts my eyes to look at screens without them. I think that's how our eyes are supposed to feel when we look at a screen.
I have a pair of Swanwick blue light glasses, which are expensive. Somehow my wife got them for much cheaper though. She's a better shopper than me. Here's a moderately priced pair of blue light glasses (affiliate link) that I would buy if I didn't have a deal-obsessed wife who is willing and able to scour the internet for these deals. Basically, try to spend over $30 and make sure that the glasses have a rich orange tint. The clear frames will not block enough of the blue light end of the spectrum. The clear frames are for day time use, and for more indirect exposure. If you are on a computer screen for hours, day or night, rather, then the dark orange lenses are necessary.
INTUITION
My last note on the detrimental effects of EMF interference, specifically radio-frequency, is that we are all radio-frequency emitting devices, ourselves. We all communicate with each other on a radio-frequency level. I believe that this is how female menstrual cycles synchronize, for example, or how chicken pox spreads, or used to spread before this developmentally essential disease was supplanted with an injectable poison alternative. And, most importantly, based on Paracelsus' remarks on the subject, it's how we receive information from God. That is, it's the receiving end of divine wisdom, which provides pretty high quality information.
Therefore, by getting away from phones, computers, wifi, blue-light, all of the electric fields in the house, in addition to other detoxification measures mentioned in this section, we're going to better hear whatever our intuition is telling us. Ultimately, this will give us a lot more clarity, and we will be emboldened to keep relying on our own experience, observation, and inference to learn, heal, and to figure stuff out.
The Etheric Confusion Hypothesis
I want to conclude this page by describing in more detail an idea that I have been proposing throughout the website, which is that poor life-force flow to the hair follicle may explain the physiological phenomenon of hair miniaturization. I want to address it here because it involves the Etheric Body, needless to say, but also because it will add some more meaning and importance to the interventions described in this section.
BLOOD and LIFE-FORCE
As I have mentioned, whether they are mainstream or alternative, just about everyone out there believes that poor blood-flow is the cause of hair miniaturization. This is because increasing blood flow to the area of loss SOMETIMES revitalizes the hair follicles, by means of minoxidil, microneedling, massaging, red-light therapy, PRP, etc.. However, just because increasing blood-flow to the hair may have a positive effect, it doesn't mean that the problem is, therefore, lack of blood-flow. Furthermore, as I have also mentioned, this theory is not consistent with my own observation, experience, and inference. For example, I bleed significantly in the bald areas when I micro-needle, and the skin in bald areas of the scalp looks just as healthy (or unhealthy) as the skin in non-bald areas of the scalp. To me, that seems like an indication of normal blood-flow in bald areas.
My alternative theory, proposed on this page, explains the reason for the moderate success of blood-flow improvement interventions to be an increase in nutritive qi delivered to the hair. The relationship between blood and qi in TCM is complex, but my inclination is to believe that what nutritive qi can be delivered by means of the blood, or increased blood-flow, is fundamentally less robust than the nutritive qi that flows through the meridian network. Such would account for the weak potency of blood-flow interventions. It would also explain temporary success, as the increase in qi from the blood struggles to off-set the progressive reduction in qi flow through the meridians. And this reduction in flow through the meridian, I propose, is due to energetic confusion in the Etheric Body as a result of the erosion in the skull contours.
FLAWS IN DNA THEORY
The Etheric Body connection is likely to be dismissed on face value due to our modern understanding of how our body forms and operates. It has been reinforced in us, from even before we enter school, that the governing intelligence within us that forms us from sperm and egg into our fully human adult body is a vast protein code, a fixed architectural schematic of who we are to become, that is inherited from our parents, which are bodies then build us into, whether we like it or not. The sperm fertilizes the egg, the DNA starts transcribing mRNA, the ribosomes start translating the mRNA, and the whole thing (us) starts getting built. How and when those transcriptions start, nobody knows. Perhaps, somehow, an mRNA starter culture gets poured on that zygote to get it going, like it's a yogurt.
Now, I have not done nearly enough research to completely debunk modern cell biology. However, there are a few major flaws in the methods and reasoning that make me doubt the DNA to mRNA to usable proteins process, which I'll address here. For one, the guy who won the nobel prize for discovering the double helix, as part of his paper, ASSUMED a 36° angle of ascent, and a 10 base pair sequence before it changed direction again. So, it sounds like he didn't actually see DNA. No one having actually seen DNA aside, in regards to cell biology specifically, the only parts of the cell that are visible under a light microscope are the nucleus and mitochondria. The endoplasmic reticula and ribosomes, rather, the parts that would be necessary to perform the transcription to translation process, are only visible under an electron microscope, after the tissue that holds the cell has been butchered, chemically frozen, and metallically stained. Furthermore, the forms of the endoplasmic reticula and ribosomes resemble that of water fractures and gas bubbles, which is usually what you would expect to occur during the process of chemically freezing and metallically staining organic tissue. So, it's not really so clear that these ribosomes, which are weirdly named "rib of body" (along the lines of "atom" replacing "adam" in modern creation theory), and endoplasmic reticula actually exist.
One logistical problem with the operation, even if these cell parts actually exist, is that the endoplasmic reticula, longs tubes of which there are many in the cell, supposedly, somehow provide a door that lets large proteins out of the nucleus without letting small hydrogen atoms in, which would disturb the pH level, and pass these large proteins out while attached to both a stationary outer cell membrane and a ROTATING nucleus without ever getting tangled or stretch and break. Besides the tangling issue, in order to make the whole process work, there are Sec61 translocon complexes, golgi apparati, COPII-coated vesicles, hydrolyzed protein portals, and of course the ogglisaccharide transferase enzyme for the requisite glycolysis that's gonna happen. I don't think even a PhD in cellular biology could fully explain what's going on, nor do I think it's even possible to do so. It's a convoluted mess. Furthermore, all of this major equipment, energy expenditure, and complicated industrial process is just to get one little protein out that becomes a tiny piece of us that has be indexed from an extremely long and complicated architectural code of who we are at every stage of development. It's too complicated. If life were this complicated, and I don't think it is, then it wouldn't exist. I'm going to assume, rather, that life is much more simple.
EVERYTHING GROWS FROM SEED
Alternatively, I will assume that everything grows from seed by means of life-force. Again, this life-force is an energetic intelligence that modern science cannot measure, reproduce, or even understand. It flows through us and creates our Etheric Body, which is contained within the seed. It has the ability to sense and adapt. It knows exactly what to grow us into, and it knows exactly when to start. It grows our bones, our organs, skin, hair, blood, cartilage, cells, tissues, etc. all at the right times, in the right proportions, and in the right places. It doesn't make mistakes either. It's not going to a put an eyeball in your mouth, or an ear on your butt. Rather, it knows where to put everything, always, and with certainty and precision, all at the developmentally appropriate time. In addition, it brings it all to life as whole functional and integrative unit under it's seemingly infinite wisdom. Infinite wisdom, is the only way this life thing is going to work, not a golgi apparatus.
By this reasoning, the Etheric Body is smart enough know how and where to grow a hair. The top of the skull is where it knows to grow hair. It also knows to grow hair on the sides and back too. And, for some reason, it knows not grow hair on our foreheads. Humans do not grow hair on their foreheads. Even the hairiest of dudes out there can't grow hair in the middle of his forehead. The question is then, how does the Etheric Body define the part of our body known as our forehead?
THE DEFINITION OF A FOREHEAD
The Etheric Body must have some boundary where it defines the forehead to begin and end. The logical choice would be where there is a sharp change in direction that separates the two distinct areas. The forehead is fairly vertical, and the top of the skull is nearly parallel to the ground. Therefore, there should be an angle some where in between where the skull shape changes from vertical to flat. Not coincidentally, that place on our skulls, where there is this distinct directional change, is exactly where our hairlines grow.
I refer to the areas of sharp directional changes in the skull as our "contours". They are the boundaries that the Etheric Body uses to help distinguish between the different parts of the skull. When these contours are sharp, then the Etheric Body knows exactly where to grow hair on our head. However, when the contours are obscured through rounding and bulging in certain areas of the skull, then it creates Etheric "confusion", where the Etheric body no longer recognizes that area as an area of hair growth.
Look again and compare the following skull shapes that have been shown before. Ask yourself, if you were the Etheric Body, where would you put the hairline?
If the boy were completely hairless, I feel confident that I could figure out where to put his hairline. His forehead is so steep, and the direction changes so sharply, that the contour of his imaginative slick bald skull would be easy to identify. For the man, however, it's very confusing.
On a spherical head, towards which this man's skull shape is progressing, if not there already, the Etheric Body can no longer differentiate between the top of the skull, where hair grows, and the forehead, where it does not grow hair. My theory, is that the Etheric Body has reclassified parts of this man's skull, that were once considered to be "top of skull", to now be "forehead". From above the eyes to the top of his spherical head, that is now all "forehead". As a result, the Etheric Body no longer grows hair there.
Before I review what I think the Etheric Body does to grow or stop growing hair, I want to go over the receding hairline skull shape to give more of a visual on how hairline areas may be getting reclassified as forehead. This photo of Jude Law circa 2011, well illustrates why receded temples may be considered part of the forehead now. Pay close attention to the slope of the temples compared to the area where hair still grows.
For a part of the skull to be considered "top of skull" by the Etheric Body, it must be sufficiently flat. Based on my observations, it seems like it needs to be about flat enough to rest a little army man on top of it. I think I could rest an army man on the middle hair patch on Jude Law's hairline. But, unless he's got some sticky oily skin on those bald temples, I think a little army man is going to slide right off.
His temples are very sloped. They are so sloped that they are indistinguishable from forehead. How could something that sloped be considered the "top of the head"? And where is the contour? Where is the sharp border where his forehead ends and his top of skull begins? The answer is that it's still at his hairline, where the skull finally flattens out. Once you deviate left or right from that flat patch of hair in the middle of his head, then the skull shape changes direction and starts sloping steeply down his face. What's the definition of a forehead? - Where the skull starts sloping steeply down your face. So, it's not his hairline that has receded back; rather, it's his contour. The result being a perceived receded hairline.
Etheric confusion also explains why toddlers develop the exact same growth patterns as adult men with MPB. Simply, the skull boundaries have yet to be established, as a result of a similar type of bulging in the forehead region needed to accommodate significant cerebral growth and activity. And "Etheric confusion" may not be the best term for this phenomenon, because it implies that the Etheric Body is too dumb to know where to grow hair or not. I don't think that is so. Despite the contour "confusion", I still think that it makes sense for the Etheric Body to decide where to grow hair based on its defined parameters. Growing hair on the forehead of an expanded or non-expanded skull is grotesque. For example, it is easy to spot a man with a hair transplant, not because of poor surgical work, but because on a subconscious level we can perceive that the particular skull shape that we are looking at should not naturally support such a hair growth pattern. Furthermore, it is not the Etheric Body's fault that our skulls have expanded. That's a deeper issue that it has no control over. The life-force being pushed up against the the crown is merely the Etheric Body doing it's job by adapting and responding to events in the other bodies appropriately. The Etheric Body's greatest attribute is it's ability to adapt, and we wouldn't have life without that.
THE NEW FRONTIER FOR HAIR GROWTH
As I theorized earlier on this webpage, I suspect that when an area of the skull gets reclassified as forehead, then the Etheric Body will stop regrowing hair by shutting off or, more likely, by severely reducing the flow of life-force to the hair follicles in that region. This occurs through the qi meridians, which are not the same as blood vessels. Furthermore, I mentioned earlier in this section that the reason why blood flow stimulation strategies can work, but are inconsistent, produce moderate results, and require a lot of persistence and work, is because getting qi to an area via the blood is not efficient. It can be done, but I, being no expert in TCM, suspect qi flows through the meridians with much more vigor. At the very least, it's fighting against a deficit of qi that is no longer flowing to hair through the meridian network.
Therefore, in addition to re-contouring our skulls, which would establish those strong boundaries that help the Etheric Body define where we should grow hair, interventions aimed at restoring qi flow to areas of bald scalp, theoretically, have the greatest potential to regrow "lost" hair. Furthermore, the effort to reward ratio would far exceed anything that we could or have gotten from trying all day everyday to stimulate blood-flow to the hair. Many ideas have been proposed on this webpage. However, this is far from a comprehensive list of possible interventions. There is much room for creativity and ingenuity in this regard. At the very least, it is an exciting new frontier for hair regrowth efforts for most of us, as we likely all have exhausted the many ways, and extent to which, we can get more blood to our hair.
Conclusion
As implied in the Bible story of Samson and Delilah, and explicitly theorized in TCM, much of our life-force is stored in our hair. I mentioned this notion on the first page, but, given the discussion in the last section, it may have some more context and importance now. It's a reminder that the life-force not only grows the hair, but that the life-force is actually present in the hair follicle. Again, this makes sense, given how our hair is such a strong reflection of our vitality. For example, women have longer and thicker hair, are less afflicted by hair loss, and they live longer. Furthermore, the hair of a child has a much different luster than the hair of an older human, even if the older one has yet to lose color. And the fact that a lone hair can grow on a patch of bald scalp, years after all the other hairs have disappeared, is an indication, to me at least, that the hair grows from life-force and has it's own life-force.
Those lone surviving hairs on completely bald scalp would have died off a long time ago, if hair grew only from blood. Once that artery is choked off, and the blood is gone, then they would all have to die. The hair next to it is dead, and I would imagine that they share the same arterial branch. How could it survive, otherwise? I have some such hairs that even grow to full length! It doesn't make sense. Rather, it only makes to me that the hair still grows because the life-force is so strong in the follicle, that it simply refuses to die. It's like a tree growing out of a sheer cliff face.
I don't know if we can "trick" the Etheric Body into growing hair in areas that now satisfy the definition of being "forehead" more so than that of "top of skull", but I think that we can cultivate a stronger life-force within us, which may ultimately cultivate a stronger life-force in our hair. I want more hairs that simply refuse to die. I think that we can do that with some Etheric Body work. It starts with liver flushes and coffee enemas to get our livers healthy and circulating qi robustly again. It will also take cultivating awareness in the Etheric Body, which I'll discuss more on the Spirit Body page. Once we get an awareness of our qi, then we can start to use our intent to move it about. On this page, the focus was on moving it out of the head, but we could also move it back to the scalp, and to the hair. Furthermore, there are all of the energy healing modalities, on which I have yet to scratch the surface, all of which could serve to amplify the qi flow in our Etheric Body and, ultimately, to our hair.
To guide us in our intervention efforts in the unfamiliar realm of the Etheric Body, we will have to do some research. But, we also need to use our intuition. We cannot follow the dogma of energy healing protocols, much like we cannot follow the dogma of modern medicine. This is uncharted territory. As far as I know, no alternative health "expert" is out there claiming to regrow hair by means of life-force work. Therefore, it's incumbent upon us to use our observation, experience, and inference, all guided by our intuition, to figure it out.
Our intuition is just one of our built-in guides through life. We have another. In addition to our intuition, which is a flume of brilliant ideas coming from the divine wisdom, the heart is also communicating to us, all day, the things that we need to do in order to provide it with the loving warmth from the fulfillment of our spiritual goals. To act on this guidance, we need to enter the realm of the Soul, and listen to our emotions. The Etheric Body is especially sensitive to our emotions. Our physiology, even our appearance, is a manifestation of Etheric responses to what we experience in our emotions. So, for example, if we want to learn why our skulls are expanding in grotesque ways, then we have to look at what's in our Soul.
